How to start playing Conquest Mode in the Golem Overlord game

One of my latest favourite Play2Earn games on the Hive blockchain is Golem Overlord, which, unlike Splinterlands, has a team working to increase the fun and to create the best experience for all its players, without major compromises, is fast enough and quite stable, if you do not count the ocasional upgrade. Personally, I started to enjoy this one more than Splinterlands lately. Even in terms of profits, as I got the Golem VIP permit, one month at the time, I can easily gain enough Hive to buy another month in just the first 10 days. I will talk a bit more about this later.

This is the main screen. Top left is your profile, with all the main characteristics, and the important bits are the number of Scavenger Golems that you posses (a bigger number is collecting more of the game token called Part), Power (how big is your attack), Fortification (your defense), Golem Charging (increase the number of active Scavenger Golems), Faith (related to how much you steal or lose when you fight) and Staked PART (determining how big is your wallet - how much PART and SHARD you can keep).

One of my favourite games mode, called Conquest, is a three day tournament, where you can win items and various packs, reminding me of the battles that I use to do while playing Heroes of Might and Magic. But, there is a but, in order to play Conquest, you need to have that Golem VIP, or at least you need it when it was still Alpha - Beta, I need to check this one. During the event, you play against the other real players.

So, coming back to the VIP, main benefits are that you can login with no captcha, you have an automatic refill every time you claim Part and Shard tokens (to explain, you lose golems when you fight or as the time goes by - 0.5% of your total golems per hour), you have even some custom Discord alerts, which are quite useful for me (I only use Claim Ready and Research Points Full). Just to point one of my ideas for @golem.overlord, I would really appreciate if you can also customize Auto-refill for the Prestige bar. I lose a lot of time doing that lately.

This is the matchmaking page. Ranked is the mode that you play during the weekend 3 days event, and depending on your place on the leaderboard, you can win various prizes. The closest to the top, the biggest the prize. For every win, you are also winning a Trinket pack once per day, and some Nano Tonics called Vial of Insight every time you win a match, which helps your guild to research faster (gain 10 Research points for each use).

 " "image.png""

You can also play Unranked (Monday to Thursday) with no Vials for win, or against bots, just to get your daily Trinket pack.

Once you got a match, you can see all kinds of Golems, and you can filter them by Speed, Ability, Attack, Defence, Health or Level. They have abilities, which can be selected of the right panel. They are 5 main groups: Arcane, Celestial, Elemental, Shadow and Vanguard, and if you have 3, 5 or 6 of the same group in your team you get some powerful bonuses.

 " "image.png""

A full team will have 6 Golems, and you can see each of them here, with all their stats and abilities. Hover over the part that interests you and you find more info. I usually play in a clasical way, with 2-3 Tanks, and 3-4 Damage, and sometimes 1 Support Golem.

 " "image.png""

One of my favorites is Shadow, and you can see here how for 3 of them in your team you gain 5 extra attack, for 5 Shadow Golems 15% extra speed, and for 6 of them Stealth for 2 turns. For 6 of them, you get all three bonuses, and if you are looking to do another 3 or 5 set bonuses from another group, you get a serious boost.

" "image.png"" After the selection, you are setting them up on the field. Here, it is important how you do it, hence the Heroes of Might and Magic experience, so usually I go classic, with tanks in front, melee damage behind tank, ranged and support behind melee damage.

 " "image.png""

Once you start the match, you need to select an advisor, this is similar with the Hero from the classic turn based games, boosting the whole team.

 " "image.png""

In my case, I use my only Exceptional Advisor, which is increasing my Golem HP by 8%, and adds +5 HP too.

 " "image.png""

And now the fight begins. You can watch it with Play, or just press Skip to go straight for the result. As you just start, it is good to play the matches, so you see other people strategies, and especially to study why you just lost.

 " "image.png""

If you choose to play the games, this is how it is looking, and once you become familiar with the Golem shapes, you will know how many tanks, damage or suport golems are in your opponent's team.

 " "image.png""

When the match ended, and all the Golems from one team are defeated, you have a small window shwoing you few stats, like your rating, how much damage you did, and how much experience your advisor gained.

So, short story long, this is the Conquest mode from Golem Overlord a part of the game where you fight epic battles against real opponents, in a three day tournaments, winning considerable prizes. By the way, you can even sell the prizes on the market, for Hive, helping you to increase your HP in a fun, challenging way, by showing off your skills against other players. But this is a story for another time (I am sure you will be interested how to make lots of Hive using the Golem Overlord ecosystem, so, who knows, I may even write another post where I explain this kind of stuff, how I make more than 100 Hive every month with this game, so, check on me later).

And above all, have fun playing it!
