Rock day (or night)

Every year in mid-June, my city hosts an event called “Rock Day.” It's a four-day festival featuring various bands, some famous in Brazil and others better known locally. This is one of the coolest events in the region and has a huge impact on the city's rock ‘n’ roll culture.

Of course, I'm there every year, and every year it's a pleasure to enjoy good old rock ‘n’ roll. But for me, this year was undoubtedly the best ever. The reason? Two bands I've been listening to since I was a teenager were invited: Matanza and Ratos de Porão.

Man, these two bands are part of the soundtrack of my life! I have enormous admiration for this sound, and I've never seen this event as crowded as it was this year. It was awesome!

Ratos de Porão plays protest punk, heavy sound and equally intense lyrics. Matanza, on the other hand, has a sound closer to metal, with aggressive lyrics and perfect instrumentation, which goes very well with Jimmy's vocals, a unique voice that sounds like thunder. I remember I loved his car show on MTV... good times! And that night, the guy was right there in front of me! It was incredible, one of the best shows of my life!

Todos os anos, em meados de junho, acontece na minha cidade um evento chamado "O Dia de Rock". É um festival que dura quatro dias seguidos, com várias bandas, algumas famosas no Brasil e outras mais conhecidas localmente. Esse é um dos eventos mais legais da região e tem um peso muito grande na cultura rock'n'roll da cidade.

Claro que todos os anos eu estou lá, e todos os anos é um prazer curtir o bom e velho rock'n'roll. Mas, para mim, este ano foi, sem dúvida, o melhor de todos. O motivo? Duas bandas que ouço desde a adolescência foram convidadas: Matanza e Ratos de Porão.

Cara, essas duas bandas fazem parte da trilha sonora da minha vida! Tenho uma admiração enorme por esse som, e nunca vi esse evento tão cheio quanto nesta edição. Foi demais!

Ratos de Porão toca um punk de protesto, som pesado e letras igualmente intensas. Já o Matanza traz uma pegada mais próxima do metal, com letras agressivas e um instrumental perfeito, que combina muito bem com o vocal do Jimmy, uma voz única, que mais parece um trovão. Lembro que eu adorava o programa dele sobre carros na MTV... bons tempos! E naquela noite, o cara estava ali, bem na minha frente! Foi incrível, um dos melhores shows da minha vida!
