Just existing - would that be perfection?

Who has never imagined a perfect world? A world where disease, poverty, and life's obstacles simply did not exist. People governed by true leaders, everything working as it should. Deep down, everyone knows what a perfect world should be like, so why doesn't anyone really work to make it happen?

If this perfect world existed, people would not fight over every crumb. There would be no competition and no one would need to evolve personally to reach new heights. We can say that there are two sides to such a society: one where everyone would have quality of life, and another where society is content with what it already has.

Honestly, perhaps this perfect world would be the worst of all inventions. A world where progress would not exist. After all, why evolve if things are already good the way they are? Science, technology, none of that would exist. No one would need it. It would be almost like living in the Stone Age, not because of a lack of comfort, but because it would be a society without challenges, without goals, and without a destination beyond what it already has. It would truly be a society that would not evolve. And would living that way, even without the “bad” things, be a good thing? Living without challenges, to me, seems like the worst possible fate. Just existing. People would be like trees: standing still, playing their role in an already established environment, and that's it. THE END.

But if we take a closer look at such a perfect world, is it possible to imagine it without thinking that, if there were a government, it would be extremely controlling? Satisfied people would be nothing more than sheep being led. Even if this government were “perfect,” the question still arises: would we choose quality of life or true freedom? It's a difficult situation to imagine without something really bad behind it. How would it really work?

Maybe that's what life is all about. Or maybe I've just been conditioned to think that challenges, difficulties, and uncertainties, such as illness or tragedy, are mechanisms that make us feel truly alive. What is living, if not enjoying something that may not exist tomorrow? For me, a perfect world wouldn't make much sense. What would I do? What would be the challenge? What would motivate me to get out of bed every morning? I think it's precisely because the world isn't perfect that things have value. Without difficulties, without challenges, nothing would have the weight it does. Those who learn to look at life this way begin to value every second, every minute. They are grateful for the air they breathe, for the sound of birds, for everything. What would be the value of things if they were guaranteed? Honestly, I can't imagine a place different from this one.

Finally, I believe we are experiencing that old dilemma: the desire to have and the boredom of owning. We want a world without its negative aspects, but we would quickly become bored and find a way to ruin everything. Not that a bad world is what we deserve... or maybe it is. But it is these uncertainties that bring excitement to our days, that give value to simple things. Difficult moments are fleeting so that we can celebrate our achievements. Life, the world, and people are not perfect, and if they were, nothing would make sense.

A ciência, a tecnologia, nada disso existiria.

Talvez a vida seja feita exatamente disso.

Humans I know will always have a way of bringing bad out of good that was established. The ups and downs we face in the world on a daily makes it not look boring for all as you rightly said.

I just enjoyed reading from you

If we should have an ideal would to live in today, we wood be so bored to the extent that we would end up tearing everything down with our own hands.

Very good reflection. I liked how you question the idea of a perfect world instead of idealizing it. Without challenges there is no progress, and without progress life loses its meaning. In the end, it’s difficulties that make us value simple things and give weight to every achievement.
