It is undeniable that the role of a politician is very important, whether at national, state or municipal level. There are many responsibilities in their hands which, unfortunately, are not fulfilled in most cases and directly affect people's quality of life. Despite so much responsibility, rarely do any of them do anything really important that isn't for themselves or their party. There is too much politicking and too few really capable politicians. Faced with this catastrophic scenario, it makes me want to run for political office and see if I can do something about it, but we know it wouldn't be that easy.

To be honest, I have no admiration for any politician; on the contrary, I dislike them very much, regardless of the party or the person. It's not hard to find reasons for this feeling when it comes to me: they're incompetent, dirty and only really think about the population when it's election time. But despite this feeling, I have thought about running for office, but obviously that was just a hypothetical thought. I wouldn't have the stomach to live every day among people I vehemently repudiate.

Even if I were to run for office and win, it would be very difficult to implement any kind of solution or project that would be really good for the population. Firstly, there is a huge party bureaucracy, where good projects, in order to be approved, must benefit the party itself. Secondly, I wouldn't know how to live in the midst of the corruption and politicking that exists in this environment. When we are there, we are sure that two things can happen: either they will try to corrupt our integrity or they will find some way of overruling us in decision-making. And without any power, what can I do apart from stress and fight in vain?

Now, let's suppose that none of these obstacles are really relevant to someone who's really trying to do something for the country and I'm there in this chaotic environment that works very badly. I believe that identifying how things work there would be the first step in trying to create a project. And if, by chance, there is a politician there who has the slightest desire to create something productive, creating links with this fictional being would be a good first step.

But it's difficult to define what is really productive in this environment. We know how politicians act, and when they come up against someone who is trying to stop the wheel they're used to, it's unlikely that anything will happen. But if it were possible for my fight not to be in vain, I would try to do everything in my power to make the system really work. I would sacrifice myself for the sake of the people, because I can feel for myself how hard life is for ordinary people who depend so much on the system to survive. That would be my amulet so that I wouldn't be corrupted by the lack of integrity and values that live in this environment.

Apesar de tanta responsabilidade, raramente algum deles faz algo realmente importante que não seja para si mesmo ou para o partido. Existe muita politicagem e poucos políticos realmente capazes. Diante desse cenário catastrófico, dá uma imensa vontade de se candidatar a um cargo político e ver se pelas minhas próprias mãos algo poderia ser feito, mas sabemos que não seria tão fácil.

Para ser sincero, não possuo nenhuma admiração por qualquer político, pelo contrário, tenho uma aversão muito grande, independentemente do partido ou da pessoa. Não é difícil encontrar motivos para que esse sentimento se instale em mim quando esse é o assunto: são incompetentes, sujos e só pensam realmente na população quando é período de eleições. Mas, apesar desse sentimento, já pensei em disputar um cargo, mas é óbvio que esse foi apenas um pensamento hipotético. Eu não teria estômago para conviver diariamente no meio de pessoas das quais eu repudio veementemente.

Mesmo que algum dia eu me candidatasse e ganhasse, seria muito difícil implementar qualquer tipo de solução ou projeto que fosse realmente bom para a população. Primeiro, existe uma grande burocracia partidária, onde os bons projetos, para serem aprovados, devem beneficiar o próprio partido. Segundo, eu não saberia viver em meio à corrupção e à politicagem que existem nesse meio. Quando estamos ali, temos a certeza de que duas coisas podem acontecer: ou vão tentar corromper a nossa integridade ou vão encontrar algum jeito de nos anular nas tomadas de decisões. E sem algum poder, o que poderei fazer além de me estressar e lutar em vão?

Agora, vamos supor que nenhum desses obstáculos seja realmente relevante para alguém que realmente tente fazer algo pelo país e eu esteja ali nesse meio caótico que funciona muito mal. Acredito que identificar como as coisas ali dentro funcionam seria o primeiro passo para tentar criar algum projeto. E se, por sorte, existir algum político por ali que tenha o mínimo de vontade de criar algo produtivo, criar laços com esse ser fictício seria um bom primeiro passo.

Mas é difícil definir que algo seja realmente produtivo nesse meio. Sabemos como os políticos agem e, quando eles se depararem com alguém que está tentando parar essa roda da qual estão acostumados, dificilmente alguma coisa vai acontecer. Mas se fosse possível que minha luta não fosse em vão, eu tentaria sim fazer tudo que estivesse ao meu alcance para fazer o sistema realmente funcionar. Eu me sacrificaria em prol das pessoas, pois sinto na pele o quanto é dura a vida das pessoas comuns que dependem tanto do sistema para sobreviver. Isso seria o meu amuleto para que eu não fosse corrompido pela falta de integridade e valores que habitam nesse meio.
