A Friendship That Didn't Last Long
Life teaches us a lot of things as we experience them on a daily basis and this comes mostly from people's behavior as we learn from them. It is not new to us that we humans showcase different characters that either comes with a good one or a bad one. This however depends on how we view people's behavior and action towards us.
There was a guy I met some years back in a company where I worked before and this guy happens to be someone who had nothing but was privilege to secure a job there. He had no where to stay because he was new in the area and had no family or friends around. It was just from a conversation with him during break time that i just knew he had no place to stay.
He pleaded with me if he can stay with me for the main time till he gets his ground. I felt kind of touched with his story and decided to allow him stay with me since I stay alone. Though that was a risky decision but I just needed to assist him with accomodation and since we work in the same place, that will make things more easier.
Our working days back then at the company was from Mondays to Saturdays from 7am to 7pm. We do things together when he began to stay with me and no doubt he was cooperative with his actions that I felt kind of free with him. After a year, that cooperation didn't last long as he began to showcase his real character like he don't care.
He totally changed from the person I helped a year ago and this became a bigger issue that even where I stay he has almost turned the place to his own where he kept almost all his pictures around the room. This is someone I have almost referred him to as a brother but his real character eradicated that from my mind.
I had no other option but to terminate that friendship as his attitude is becoming more unbearable for my liking. He invites friends to come spend the night without informing me and this really made me call that closeness a quit and I never regret doing so.
This is one behavior some people showcase when they try to take advantage of kindness been shown to them which is not appropriate. Probably, if I had collected rent from him, it would have become a different scenario as i wouldn't have a say anymore but I didn't and that is why I allow him to go as his attitude have changed the other way round and if i didn't plut an end to it, i might be the one to regret my action bvut i learnt my lesson.
