Hive Exploration, January 14th 2025
I haven't been super active, on Hive or elsewhere. I think the exhaustion from the previous year has been catching up. So, most of the changes in my Hive wallet are coming from the other holdings in the wallet, or delegations, or whatever.
A steady trickle of automated reward claiminghappened on the main wallet, and payouts of HIVE from holding EDSI and SIM. I claimed some HIVE from staking GAMER, too.
On Hive-Engine I got snippets of a bunch of tokens as curation and author rewards, and other tokens as rewards for liquidity pooling. Not very much of any token, of course, but, it's fun to watch the different tokens accumulate in different ways. That said, the WAIV token has found quite a presence in my wallet, from me adding it onto my finance-oriented posts. I also got some LOLZ from delegating a chunk of sidechain tokens - ALIVE, CENT, CINE, CTP, FUN, LEO, NEOXAG, ONEUP, PIMP, and WAIV - and LGN for delegating HP. I got some YOLO for staking YOLO, and some DRIP and SPS for staking DRIP.
On that front, there was an update from DRIP, where they said they're basically going to focus their portfolio on SPS, one of the Splinterlands tokens. Part of what I liked from DRIP was its role as an actively managed basket of blockchain gaming assets; if it isn't that, but a managed exposure to Splinterlands, then I'm not particularly interested.
That and other details have me pretty chilled on DRIP, and since YOLO is from the same team, I've turned off autostaking for the two tokens and will probably start trading them to build up things I'm more bullish on.
That includes getting more DBOND to hold as a yielding not-quite liquid derivative of HIVE, through the flywheel of RUG generating DBOND generating DAB which, when staked, generates DBOND. I've been thinking about keeping some of the DAB liquid so it generates SWAP.HIVE and using that to get more RUG, or continuing to stake it and selling off a chunk of my DBONDs to buy a chunk of RUG. It's something I could do math on, or I could do based on vibes. Right now DBOND represents a big chunk of my Hive portfolio, so I'm leaning toward trading it all for a bunch of RUG.
I'm also interested in getting more EDSI, but I'm already getting that from delegating HP to @eds-vote, and plan on upping that delegation when others expire.
The other tokens I'm most keen on are YIELD and INCOME, though I haven't really done much diligence on those, so they're more interesting because they're new-to-me, but maybe they'll hold my interest.
I saw this cool post from @andablackwidow that explains a fraud-protection feature in the latest Hive version. It's cool seeing posts about Hive as a piece of software. I feel like there's not generally much discussion of that part of things, even though a lot of what is discussed about Hive fundamentally relies on it.
And @arcange put forth a new proposal to keep HBD price-stabilized. I think the work done to keep Hive's underlying financials in good shape are often also underappreciated, so that got an enthusiastic vote from me.
In Hive's internal market, DENAR, the in-game currency for Crownrend, the latest strategy idle game, has continued to hold its own near the top of trade volume charts, right below Splinterland's tokens.
I've got a friend who might start playing Splinterlands - they've made a Hive account with the idea of getting started with a sports blog.
And that's all the real updates I've got!

Delegation rewards in LGN have been cancelled i think.
How do you find the GAMER divs?
At these prices we prefer DAB over DBOND and made that trade.
You are keen! Like to read about your choices.
