[Week-Engagement topic: WEEK 188 ] Unfriendly Disposition, a bad habit.

Hello everyone,I wish you a very happy Sunday from this evening. Today, I am excited to participate in this interesting engagement.

I will like to answer the question:

> Have you ever gained or lost something or someone because of a habit (good or bad) of yours?

This experience doesn't sound really nice and you might want to think that it's all my fault and I don't want to be rather defensive. Truth is, I have lost a number of people because of a habit I am trying so hard to change.

At first appearance, I am always mistaken to be a snub and a proud person and that is because I find it difficult to make friends. I can be in a crowd and not talk to anyone until I live. I find it a big deal to associate with people and make friends easily and this bad character has succeeded in making people see me in the negative light.

I remember a young girl who summed up the courage to come speak with me in church, she couldn't look at me in the fear and seemed like I was going to eat her up. When I asked what the problem was, I was shocked at her response. She said I am not always friendly and that I don't smile, that's why she wasn't comfortable around me. I tried to lighten up but she was still tensed up and after that day, she doesn't even come around anymore but only sends me chats on Facebook if she wants to communicate with me.

This habit of having a unfriendly disposition has sent a number of people away from me and I feel bad about it most times though I am trying each day to adjust as much as I can. I hope to be better.

Thanks for reading.

I’ve lost future friends because they thought I was rude because I have a mean/serious face.
Occasionally I smile when I go out and it’s getting a lot better

Wow!
That's cool. Maybe, I will adopt your pattern cause it looks like I smile only when I want to take photos.

I can relate with your experience, it's as if we have almost same character. People only judge someone because of what others said not necessarily because they have actually related with the person.

One thing I believe is that despite one's countenance, there are still some people who will love to be friends with the person - just like the popular saying even a mad person have friends

So dear even as you are trying to let go of the unfriendly disposition, don't beat yourself too much, remember you didn't create yourself.

Thank you very much. I feel encouraged. In as much as I am trying to change,I am also trying to maintain who I originally am.
