Passion Over Profit: The Shift We Need
You know, the joy of doing something meaningful, impactful, and life-changing has been overshadowed by "how much am I even being paid for this?" Hospitals now refuse to treat patients and leave them to die because they can't afford the high hospital bill. Where's passion? I thought that was the drive.
Hospitals are now cooperatives, and schools are now like a corporate business/market. Teachers teach not because they want to make a difference but because they want a paycheck. Where's love? Where's the drive? Where's passion?

It's so unfortunate that we are in a time where everyone puts money in the forefront of everything. I can't blame anyone. Can we really go back to such a time where everyone worked because they loved what they did? One question that keeps repeating in my mind is whether there was ever a time like that? Because it has always been a mixture of people who wanted to do good and the ones who were after the money. But now, it's more like a pandemic.
Guess what, everyone is working to have a better life. Of course, doctors want to save lives, but without the pay, some wouldn't give their patients the care and treatment they deserve.
The real question is whether there really is a way back? I strongly believe the biggest way to change is by finding the human side of what we do and why we do what we do. One question that needs to be asked is whether I really want to make a difference, and do I have a passion for this.
I believe change is a process, one that takes a lot of time, but we'll make an effort one step at a time. It's something achievable once you put your mind to it.
It starts with the Doctor who still goes ahead to save a life despite the stress and delayed paycheck, and the teacher who decides to stay after school to help a struggling student improve. That's when real change begins and the world becomes a better place.

Truth is that when a high number of us choose meaning, compassion, and making a difference over competition and money, then real change begins to happen, and just maybe things can go back to normal.
Capitalism is there, we can't just remove it from the box overnight lol. But we can try one profession, and one decision at a time. Remember, real change starts from within and it begins with me and you.
"How can I make the most money from this?" Scratch that mentality and focus on the "How can I make this matter?" and how can I make a clear and visible change for the world to see!

Hmmm..this calls for personal reflections because most of us are guilty of this
I remember getting a teaching job and after one term, I resigned, not really because of other important reasons but because I didn't see the passion I thought i had in teaching ...so instead of struggling to impact knowledge, I gave room for others to fill the space

Others wouldn't have because of "let me just manage it and earn small thing before the main job comes" which in the end they send up not impacting any child .

This idea of achieving profit at all costs is part of the capitalist system; we can't deny that. We need to try to humanize our businesses and think a little about our customers as well.
