Creative-Sunday|| Prepare Banga Soup With Me ☺️

Have you ever tried Banga soup? It's an African delicacy that is made from the juice of palm fruit. It's a very simple delicacy and can be paired with any swallow of your choice. Many people swear by Banga soup and starch, which is nice ,but I'm not a fan of starch, it makes me feel like throwing up most times so I prefer eating Banga soup with Garri.

There's Banga soup and then there's Sapa Banga soup 😂... Last week I went to see a friend, and he was preparing Banga soup, I asked him where he got the palm fruits from and he said his course mate was the one who sold it to him. The quantity he got for 500 naira was so much that I asked him to get one thousand Naira own for me ( that's less than a dollar). I told my roommates and they were excited as well because we're all broke and making Banga soup in large quantity would save us a lot of money.
When the Banga arrived, it was way more than we had expected so we decided to prepare Banga soup and Banga stew.

It cost us just 4000 naira to make this soup, and we plan on eating it for as long as it can carry us. Honestly, we just started the journey and I'm already tired of eating the same soup 😂 turns out we have a really long way to go.
My friends asked me to bring soup for them when coming to class on Monday, so thank God, at least it's reducing lol.
The ingredients for this soup are basic unless you want to make it extra, I don't eat fresh fish, but most people swear by catfish that it's the secret ingredient but I disagree.

Noticed how I didn't mention fish in my ingredients, very demure, very sapa-ish 😂....
I washed my palm fruits and then I set it on fire to boil until it was ready. ( When the palm fruits start having tear on their body, that's when you know it's ready ) Or you can take one and chew to see if it's soft enough.
Remove from fire once it's ready and mash, make sure you mash it properly and separate the nuts from the flesh. Once you're done, pour in some water and juice out the content. Sieve and transfer into your pot. Make sure not to add too much water or else you'd have to boil it until it becomes thick. Now cook on moderate heat not too high until you see that it's becoming thick , add your kpormo fresh pepper and everything you need to add at this moment except your spices and leaves. Allow to boil for sometime and then add your spices and leave. Allow to cook until you start seeing palm oil at the top of the pot. That's when you know your soup is ready. Pair it with any type of swallow you like and enjoy!!

Note: don't stare your pot too much. I don't stare my pot immediately I add my ingredients, I always leave it to boil before mixing, most times I stir only when the food is ready. As long as it's boiling well, your ingredients will reach everywhere no worry.

Yh, and that's how you make Sapa Banga soup that can last up to two weeks with just 4000 naira only 😂... If I was the only one eating this soup, it would've carried me up to a month lol.
I'll be making the banga stew today, I was too tired to make it the previous day, I'll be sharing the recipe with you guys later . Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all had a splendid time in God's presence today✨❤️
See you next Sunday for another creative Sunday
