Graphing Circular Cylinders in 3D
In this video I show how to graph vertical and horizontal circular cylinders in 3 dimensions. The first example is the vertical cylinder with equation x2 + y2 = 1. This is just the equation of a circle with radius 1, but since z is not present, the circle extended along the z-axis vertically. The second example is the horizontal cylinder x2 + y2 = 1. This again is just the equation of a circle of radius 1 but along the yz-plane. Since the x-axis is not present this means the circle gets extended horizontally along the x-axis. I graph these cylinders manually as well as with the GeoGebra 3D graphing calculator: https://www.geogebra.org/3d/tabys4ec
Time stamps:
- Example 2: Circular Cylinders: 0:00

- Graphing in GeoGebra: 3:43
- (b) Horizontal Cylinder: 4:12
- Graphing in GeoGebra: 6:30
