The Way To The Torrox Beach Is not Long ! [ENG-GER]

My reason of coming to Andalusia, Southern Spain is not for vacation purposes, I have some business matters to attend to for the estate of my late husband. We only came here during the wintertime, but last Sept. the Husband succumbed to a cardiac arrest 2 weeks before our flight. So I had to postpone everything. Now that I am here, there are a lot of things to take care of. My car has to undergo an inspection at the state ITV center so I could get the 2024 sticker to be able to use the car in Spain. I missed the inspection last year because of the tragic event.

Ich komme nicht zum Urlaub nach Andalusien, Südspanien, sondern habe einige geschäftliche Angelegenheiten für den Nachlass meines verstorbenen Mannes zu erledigen. Wir kamen nur im Winter hierher, aber letzten September erlag mein Mann 2 Wochen vor unserem Flug einem Herzstillstand. Also musste ich alles aufschieben. Jetzt, wo ich hier bin, gibt es eine Menge Dinge zu erledigen. Mein Auto muss zur Inspektion im staatlichen ITV-Zentrum, damit ich die Plakette 2024 bekomme, um das Auto in Spanien benutzen zu können. Letztes Jahr habe ich die Inspektion wegen des tragischen Ereignisses verpasst.

My car had to undergo a service check-up by the car mechanic before the inspection to make sure that there are no problems getting the sticker. So I went yesterday, left the car in his shop and decided to g to the beach to kill the time. I needed to come back within 2 hours to his shop so we could drive to the inspection site. It has been 17 months since I was last here.

Mein Auto musste vor der Inspektion vom Automechaniker durchgecheckt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass es keine Probleme mit der Plakette gibt. Also ging ich gestern hin, ließ das Auto in seiner Werkstatt und beschloss, zum Strand zu fahren, um die Zeit totzuschlagen. Ich musste innerhalb von 2 Stunden zu seiner Werkstatt zurückkommen, damit wir zur Inspektionsstelle fahren konnten. Es ist 17 Monate her, dass ich das letzte Mal hier war.

The way to the beach is not far because it is parallel to the avenue some 400 steps away. I was on my way to the Promenade passing some courtyards nearby.

Der Weg zum Strand ist nicht weit, da er parallel zur Promenade verläuft und etwa 400 Schritte entfernt ist. Ich war auf dem Weg zur Promenade und kam an einigen Höfen in der Nähe vorbei.

The lawns are kept trimmed all the time. What a fine trimmed garden they have, Oleander with blooms, now is their season!

Die Rasenflächen werden ständig gemäht. Was für ein schön getrimmter Garten, Oleander mit Blüten, jetzt ist ihre Saison!

We used to live in one apartment located on this road overlooking the Med Sea before deciding to construct a house on the "Campo"/countryside.

Wir wohnten in einer Wohnung in dieser Straße mit Blick auf das Mittelmeer, bevor wir uns entschlossen, ein Haus auf dem "Campo" (Land) zu bauen.

It is now the season that most locals have their vacation from work since the children ´s school are closed for Summer. The tourist keep on coming as hot days are on the move. We´ve had more than 34°C yesterday.

Es ist jetzt die Jahreszeit, in der die meisten Einheimischen ihren Urlaub von der Arbeit haben, da die Schulen der Kinder für den Sommer geschlossen sind. Die Touristen kommen weiterhin, denn die heißen Tage sind auf dem Vormarsch. Gestern hatten wir mehr als 34°C.

Along the promenade, there are arrays of benches for rent, mostly tourist pay 5 Euros for this kind of bench for the whole day. The locals and expat residents or retirees from Europe bring their own shades and benches.

Entlang der Promenade gibt es eine Reihe von Bänken zu mieten, meist zahlen Touristen 5 Euro für eine solche Bank für den ganzen Tag. Die Einheimischen und Auswanderer oder Rentner aus Europa bringen ihre eigenen Sonnenschirme und Bänke mit.

I stopped-by a "Gelato" shop/ Ice cream parlor and ordered ice cream while observing the people at the beach.

Ich hielt an einem "Gelato"-Laden/einer Eisdiele an und bestellte Eis, während ich die Leute am Strand beobachtete.

Torrox Costa has a long coast of about 9 Km and all areas have different beaches.

Torrox Costa hat eine lange Küste von etwa 9 km und alle Gebiete haben verschiedene Strände.

The sand is not white as in other tropical countries but this really did not bother the tourist. They just keep on coming because it is not far away from Central and Northern Europe. The flight from Vienna is about 3 hours to Costa del Sol.

Der Sand ist nicht weiß wie in anderen tropischen Ländern, aber das stört die Touristen nicht wirklich. Sie kommen einfach immer wieder, denn es ist nicht weit weg von Mittel- und Nordeuropa. Der Flug von Wien nach Costa del Sol dauert etwa 3 Stunden.

Btw, I was surprised to know that the brother of the mechanic is married to a Filipina whom he met in England, they have 2 kids, what a small world! Filipinos are seldom here in this region.

It was time for me to thread the long Promenade to catch the bus to the shop. We made it with the 2024 sticker though and I was relieved from the stress because I have so many things to do while still here and the car is inevitable because I live in the mountains.

Übrigens war ich überrascht, als ich erfuhr, dass der Bruder des Mechanikers mit einer Filipina verheiratet ist, die er in England kennengelernt hat, und sie haben zwei Kinder. Filipinos sind hier in dieser Region selten.

Es war an der Zeit, die lange Promenade entlangzugehen, um den Bus zum Geschäft zu erwischen. Wir schafften es aber mit dem Aufkleber 2024 und ich war von dem Stress befreit, weil ich so viele Dinge zu tun habe, während ich noch hier bin und das Auto unvermeidlich ist, weil ich in den Bergen wohne.
