Accidents I Had As A Child

In my life, I have been involved in numerous minor accidents, and I have learned over time to solve them quickly. As a child, I was playful, thanks to the brothers I have. Also, some of these accidents were simple accidents, but if not properly taken care of, they could become a big deal.

There was a time I was going to the sitting room from my bedroom, and I didn’t know my brother was playing with a heavy stick, and at the same time, he didn’t know I was coming from behind. He swung the stick and it hit my knee. This was a very painful scenario and in case you experience such, you should immediately RICE it, which means Rest Ice Compression Elevate. This should be done immediately to prevent a worsening situation. This is a first aid procedure for sprains, bruises, and other soft tissue injuries. Hits like what I got as a child could lead to ligament tears in the knee, meniscus tears, and so on.

I remember another event where I ran to pick up something, and I hit my head against a wall I didn't see. Sincerely I was lucky I only suffered a concussion. Worst-case scenarios, it could be an intracranial hemorrhage. I remembered I was rushed to a clinic so I could get immediate medical help. Painkillers are not the best to use during a concussion. Just stop what you are doing and seek a doctor to help attend to the symptoms that come with it like dizziness, headache, confusion, vomiting, and loss of consciousness.

As a child, I liked to take a lot of salt and until I read about the negative effects of too much salt, I ate it a lot. Too much salt in a day can lead to increased weight gain known as water weight. When I heard it can increase the risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, fluid retention, kidney problems, osteoporosis, and type 2 diabetes.

There is one accident that is common with a lot of people and that is falling off something. This could be a chair, off a cliff, a playground, and so on. This could lead to injuries in the hand, leg, pelvis, sprained ankles, broken bones, and so on. You should see the doctor immediately. Do not self-treat, you should visit a hospital to get proper examination and care.

So these are the few scenarios I could remember, Would you mind sharing one accident you had, so we can discuss its treatment and care?
