The Worth Of Artistic Expression: Why "Bad" Art Is Still Art

Before we say anything is worthless, useless or bad, it means every person in this world has said so. What I mean is, declaring anything as bad has to be after letting it be subjective to the opinions of others to be sure it is indeed, bad. Personally, I love to see the good in something before I subject to what could be wrong or bad about it.

If you ask me, art is wide, art is everything we see. God's creation in itself is a great and divine work of art. Even though I was never in the art classes back in high school, I was always interested in how the final works of an art. From drawing to painting to cooking to cloth designing to dancing and especially music, they are all art.

One thing I believe in everything that's on earth, there are imperfections and these are what makes them unique and beautiful in their own ways. We can't say a human is bad if they look ugly but have good character and we can't say a food tastes bad because it isn't as delicious as the one eaten last, it all depends on perspective.

As much as it depends on our different perspectives and it is objective, no art is bad in my opinion. We just have a different interpretation of whatever art we come across and it is almost like, we can never be so sure why an artist did an art the way he or she did it. Even our moods can change the meaning of an art.

Like we have change of moods for a song or a photo, we can't rely on that to conclude that an art work is bad. One time, I saw a painting work that didn't make any sense to me. I kept looking at it and wondering if the artist was not well when he did the work but I wondered why the art was in a shop and about to be sold for money.

The curious me went on to ask about the painting and the art became so beautiful in my eyes after the explanation I got from the seller. Maybe he said all that to sell it off as he's not the artist but at least, he changed my perspective about the art before me. Even in the movies, arts have gone from worthless to legendary with great words.

An art doesn't seem expressive or meaningful enough to you doesn't make it worthless but take it to be just another art that holds hidden beauty, value or worth to another. I think it's more exciting to see an art with no instant gratification, a slow-burn art that would keep you loving it more when it gets more expressive or familiar.

So I'll conclude by saying every art have it's worth in the meaning and even the process of it being born. Only an artist can say his or her own art is bad but even that can be very subjective to what others think about the same art work. In essence, nothing is bad except that it is the way we see it.
