The Rise Of Robot Servants: Convenience Or Dependency?

avatar

I had to read this prompt out after the first reading because I've actually imagined robots doing a lot more in the future but never in the aspect of helping with child upbringing, it made me laugh and even others who heard me read it out. It's a funny prompt but for real, it's an issue we should be worried about it could happening.

If we are being honest with ourselves, the world is going on a fast pace that it seems 24 hours is no longer enough to cover our daily activities, talk more of the strength to do these things. And if there is one thing I've learned about humans in my years of living is that, people would happily take any opportunity that relieves them of work.

AI have been making things a lot easy for people who know how to use it, I've seen in movies what they've made robots do beyond imaginations. Bringing it to reality, making people buy robots to serve them and give people more free time to go about whatever they want to do instead, this is like a great opportunity and a serious threat too.

A Robot To Serve Me, Will I Get It?

IMG-20250609-WA0003.jpg

First of all, such a robot will cost a lot but I'll take it from the aspect that it will be affordable and quite the sacrifice for what it has to offer once I own one. I'm not the hardworking type so a robot like this would definitely get on my list of "to buy" if I have the money but it would be more useful when I have more people to care for, family lady.

A Robot that can serve me in house chores like cleaning would be a great opportunity, I always feel like time is running far while I do all that work but I console myself with how everywhere turns out neat and conducive for me after cleaning. But if a robot will do it for me, I'd gladly want to buy one and utilize the free time for something else.

But in the aspect of cooking? I'm honestly curious to see how a robot can cook and the food actually turn out to be edible for humans. I guess there really is the potential of robots to make such happen but even with my curiosity, I can bet the meals won't taste as I love it because there are meals only I can make taste just as I want it.

For a robot to take care of my kids? Like how? It's a big NO for me. Someone said, there is no manual on how to be a mother to one's children but somehow, we've had great people who had imperfect mothers that only tried their best to bring up their children well. If robots will take over this fact, I can bet we would have more robot kids than actual great people in the society.

More Free Time, What Will I Use It For?

IMG-20250609-WA0001.jpg

While I won't let a robot do my cooking and take care of my kids, I'll still have free time with my cleaning chores out and utilizing it for a better course is another factor to consider. I don't even want to imagine what a human, especially a family woman or mother would use her free time to do if her kids are being cared for by a robot lol.

Is it to find more money? Well, guess what! Even the richest is still earning more money, we're yet to see anyone who is satisfied with the amount of money they have. Is it spending good time on yourself or having more time for enjoyment? There are mothers who do that with their kids anytime and the family bond even grow deeper.

The only thing I think I would use more free time for is serving God. Even now, I don't take the time for God for granted so having the opportunity to spend more of the time with God, doing what He wills and would bless me for, I'd gladly take it. But honestly, only a few would want to use their free time for God, there'll be lots of wrong priorities.

More Robot Servants, More Liabilities!

Even as it stands now, we have a lot of people being idle and doing the wrong things because they've let others work for them. It's great to have robots do some work for us but we are bound to become liable to robots at some point. So I can't even imagine how uninteresting and too artificial the world would become if robots will do more.

From the medical and physical health aspect, havin robots doing the work will result in more humans falling sick of different kind of illness. From depression to system failures because we've rendered ourselves almost useless, if not in totality. Even sedentary lifestyle have led many to spend a lot of money to gain back their health.

A world where robots does all the work is a world of humans that don't feel tiredness, appreciate the reason God gave us time for everything and the most scary part is, we will have a world full of robots than actual humans. In the end, there is really no convenience in having robots take over every chore so we must go against it happening.

My dear, I have severally thought of having a robot that will pacify my baby to sleep and also run some errands for me because it can be so choking to do all these alone s I don't appreciate bringing people to work for me unless it is out of no option.

I will also prefer preparing my meals myself because I just enjoy my own taste. On a second consideration, won't the presence of these robot introduce some illness to Human's? I enjoyed reading from you dear

The truth is that some of this robots are way more intelligent than human. If they are programmed to take care of little details likes dirt cleaning and all there won’t be ned to be afraid of contamination. Moreover taking care of kids can be a lot especially when they are little, having a robot to rock your child to sleep and help with little activities for children may not be a bad idea. It can be a lot joggling motherhood, wifehood and career.

Yeah, I guess it would be a different case if the robots have very specific jobs to take over for things to be easier for humans, not everything.
