The Day Everything Worked Out Because of a Stranger

Some people come into our lives and things just fall in place, ease comes, some things we'd never have done for ourselves become possible and done. Then they somehow disappear leaving us with the beautiful memories that they were once there for us, the ones who took the "first impression" idea very personal, if you ask me lol.

No need saying many words, I'll just share the story of an angel I once encountered years ago.

Mum and I decided to visit the university I was admitted to, it was in another state and she thought I shouldn't go alone since I knew nobody there and I needed to find an accommodation to stay when I resume properly. I was glad my mum went with me but we were unsure how to go about finding a place to stay and return that day.

I remember we prayed for safe journey and the success of that trip but I didn't think God will do more than just that, sending an angel our way. Immediately we got down from the vehicle that took us to the school gate side, we met this man who said he should just take us to our destination and close for the day, it was noon.

Honestly, I doubted him at first to not take advantage of us because he was clearly an indigen of the place and with the stories we hear in our country, it's hard to trust anyone. But mum and I decided to trust him and the story got better. On his bike, he showed us around the school for us confirm if I needed a hostel room.

Anyone would have easily bad mouth the hostel to get us to go find an accommodation off campus but he let us see for ourselves and mum decided that she can't let me stay in the place as it looked unhygienic. This man who was supposed to start going home chose to take us to go find my accommodation and we got to one.

The very hostel I spent all my school days living in, that man recommended the place for my mum and I. Until I left the hostel, many people said I was lucky to have found a room in that hostel. With the many insecurity stories, it never got even close to where this man recommended I live. He took his time to help choose a room I'll live in too.

The story might still seem normal but it wasn't for me at this point, mum and I couldn't believe how easy and smooth everything went for us when we had no plan from start. This man even had an accident on the way, hitting a little child, he rushed the child for treatment and came back to get us for a hotel we could sleep for that night.

I got a place to stay for my school years, we found a safe and cheap hotel room to spend the night, we didn't pay much for all the riding around and all we could give was a "Thank You" and this man went away. Until today, I only saw him once because I recognised his face. He went about his business like he didn't play an angel role in a life.

I've told this story before but not in writing, it was something I felt was God sending an angel my way even when I didn't really asked for one but was hoping for a smooth experience in my first day visiting the school and it's environs. Till today, I still remember this man and can't stop thanking God for bringing him my way that day.
