The Allure Of Korea: Culture, Cuisine And Language
My first encounter with Korea was the time I saw a Korean series with my maternal aunts, it was their favourite kind of movie but at that time, I didn't understand why they enjoyed a movie with a foreign language and subtitles that stresses them to understand what the story was about. I didn't have a choice than to join them anyways.
Even though I couldn't get one word they say in their language, I could see how they portrayed their lifestyle over there. The show of respect, even in conflicts, was the most obvious one I learnt about the people in Korea from a very long time ago. It took me time to understand every conversation in that series I saw with my aunts.

But one thing I can remember very well and will tell a stranger first if I had the opportunity to describe the country, Korea. It is how the people live their lives (their culture) especially in terms of relationship and fashion. They have this well stated ranking of age, class and family especially in the historical setting and very beautiful wears.
The Koreans have special titles for their young and old in families, their seniors and juniors at workplaces, and they all seem to not go against it no matter the conflict they have which I think is admirable. They also show their culture so beautifully in their fashion. The colourful attires used in their historical movies are more beautiful.
Their way of showing respect by bowing down before leaving a room or walking away from a person, I think that's a very unique attribute to the Koreans. It speaks volume how much they respect themselves regardless of who they are, how rich or how young they are. Anyone who knows anything about Koreans must know this. It sends one of the best messages about them.

Another allure of Korea is their cuisine, there is no way I can talk about Korea to someone who is learning about the country for the first time without mentioning their food. Kimchi, tteok-bokki, ramyeon, bibimbap and a lot of other popular meals, is a signature of the country. From the preparation to eating styles, they are unique.
Their language was the least thing I got acquitted with as I slowly learned a lot of their words from seeing many kdrama since years ago. When we talk of the Korean language, I get to have the person introduced to the Korean world of entertainment. Their language in acting, in music and in shows. The language is mostly used well.
Korea is a country with beautiful places to explore too, their culture, cuisine and language are a good combo for a nice experience over there. I know for sure I'll love to experience all of it if I ever get to visit there, so I'm definitely discussing these first with whoever knows nothing about Korea. It would be nice to teach about Korea but most I've met already know.
