Saving As A Mother - A Role Model Mom

avatar

Saving is not an easy activity for anyone whether as an individual or one having family responsibilities, but saving has proven to help situations out of crisis and even help people take risk for better results. I am saying this from experience and from some people I've watched over time, there are people who have built the habit of saving and are doing well.

Mothers are not excluded from having this habit and I still admire my aunt for this act everyday.

Here is my thought about saving as mothers

Becoming married is one thing, having kids is another, saving for the sake of the family is also another... The power of saving can not be overlooked. I've always had this belief, Even when the dad can not save, the mom must know how to save.

There are a lot of situations where both parents can't do the same thing in same capacity, they just have to balance up for the sake of the home. It applies to saving too and I'll say mothers have a bigger role in saving up for the future of the family, how? I'll share.

Saving doesn't necessarily mean Stacking up some money in a jar or in a bank account awaiting emergency situations to make use of it, it also means, being mindful of how money is spent in the home to avoid going into wants (being broke) as a mother.

Saving require more from one as a mother than it does from the father or maybe I'm just focused on how it is for the mothers to save, the fathers also need to put savings in their plans while they spend and cater for their home.

While I share some ways mothers could save for her family, I'll be using my aunt as a role model for the examples I'll give, she's a mother of four now and her lifestyle as a mom is one to emulate. I have so many examples to share from her lifestyle and that alone is something I am so proud of, she proves to me all the time that a mother can do a lot more for her home.

First of all, realising that building a home especially raising kids is expensive is important. Even with the economy situations in a lot of countries, parents are made to up their game to survive through. With that in mind, here are a few ways mothers could save and help the home.

A Mother should be financially independent.

I know it wouldn't be the case for all mothers but we would agree that the mothers who do something to earn money have more to help out in the home than those who doesn't. It doesn't have to be a high paying job, just one that pays you amount that's enough to buy little necessities for yourself and kids sometimes. My aunt owns a small store not far from home, where she sells food items and is doing well enough for herself.

A Mother should buy household items in bulk.

Minding how the money is earned, buying in bulk saves more as you get to buy items in cheaper prices saving some amount than buying little by little in high prices even though not significant sometimes. Here in my country, buying in bulk is a lot better and my aunt uses this strategy very well. She buys items almost once every month and some items she buys once in six months or in a year, and then, she gets to save more while those items last.

A Mother should always keep her money growing.

Whether your own money or the father's money, it is best to have the family's money growing and this can be done by investing. There are different ways to invest which you'd have to make a personal research before getting involved to reduce possible losses. My aunt does many kinds of investment with her husband, she's yet to embrace the crypto way of investing but the ones she knows have been quite helpful in growing her family's money.

A Mother should talk to her children about money.

Just as kids are being educated in many ways, money education is a thing for them too. It will help build a health mind for money and this has a high rate of being beneficial for the parents and family at large as the children will grow to understand what money is and how to go about earning, saving and spending them. My aunt's first daughter asks her mom to help her save the allowances she gets from her parents and uncles and she would tell her mom what she's saving the money for 😅 it shows how well she has grown to understand what money is.

Other little ways I've seen some mothers do to save some money is Learning skills for the sake of the family like baking, hair styling, and other DIYs. Some mothers are able to do some services that would have require huge payments and that reduces their expenses.

There are more ways and I'll appreciate if you'll share some in the comment section, also let me know what you think about the ones I've shared.

You mentioned think available in my mother's character except she is financially independent. Because of her I learned many things of savings to see her or by born.
In case of management my mother is very good and somehow she manage to save some money even in crisis situation.
I am feeling very proud of my mother 🙂.

Keeping the money growing is one of the hardest things for me, but I still manage to find a way and one of them is to reduce my expenses, distribute it equally to each of the family needs and invest in projects that help my economy.

(Edited)

And that alone is more than enough to keep the family running, keep at it and if possible, do more but not less 🙂

Your aunt's approach to these aspects is commendable, and it reflects how mothers can make a significant impact on their family's financial well-being.

I love your aunt's strategy in saving money. A woman who isn't wise enough to know about finance will end up being broke all the time. Even if the man is out there, hustling, a woman should be able to support too and not help to mismanage funds. Your aunt and daughters are so beautiful 😍

Exactly the point, the woman of the house decides if the earnings of the man will be used well and managed for the home.

Thanks for the compliment 😊

I think I should take this to the next level because I would be a mother soon and saving helps so much, now I'm not saving for just myself but for my kids and my hubby. From #dreemport
