Rethinking Simple, Sustainable Eating: A Fresh Perspective

To maintain a healthy lifestyle in general isn't expensive but it is still a luxury many can't seem to afford, from eating healthy to exercising to sleeping well, it's not an easy one and with the trends and influences about food, it doesn't make it any easier for people who are trying to live well.

I've seen a family who doesn't have much but making sure everyone eats and rests well is a priority in the home, everyone is in good enough healthy day by day simply because they prioritise what they take into their system even though not expensive. Today, cheap foods too are expensive.

I don't believe we should rely on only healthy eating to have a good living health, there are many other factors that could play bad on our health even when we eat right. So even if we want to follow the diet trends and influencers talk about healthy feeding, we have to rethink these.

How about going as simple as possible but still eating right? I mean, food are expensive already, even the junks and unhealthy cravings. How about we spend less on those unhealthy ones, which we know very well and spend more on the ones we think are healthy, which we do know too.

Most of us, if not all, know about our classes of food and what each classes mean to our body system, we know which food gives them in abundance and the great importance of water in all of these. I think if we go back to this simple eating lifestyle, we would do a lot better in health.

There's no use complicating our healthy eating habits, as that is the case today in many ways especially with the struggle to keep a fitted body or due to some illnesses, people tend to go on diets depriving themselves of some important nutrients that the body needs and don't end well.

As much as we prioritize a healthy way of eating, we must give equal attention to how much we rest, exercise our body and keep a clean environment, these things if not in place can also put a threat to our body system and by then, we can't blame our eating style as the causing factor.

Personally, I kinda spend so much to eat healthy but I definitely spend less eating healthy than buying medications to heal from illnesses. Thankfully, I don't fall sick easily aside stomach aches that comes and goes which I am trying to put under control using a healthy living lifestyle.

Well said sis…eating healthy is way cheaper than spending money on medication. That’s some good Avacado you have there. I love Avacados a lot as it’s a healthy source of fat.

There is so much to attain a healthy lifestyle even without being wealthy. One of the wrong minds we have is that we have to be rich to live a healthy life but that is fallacious.

Nice take on this.

There is a saying "HEALTH IS WEALTH" which simply implies that no matter how busy you are at work or how much you want to save or how hardworking you are in the pursue of wealth,if you don't consider your body and health thereby eating balanced diet and exercising, then you are just subjecting yourself to medical conditions that might even get you bedridden for awhile thereby halting everything you are doing or aiming for.

@merit.ahama It's a good thing you are taking care of yourself and eating well which also helps to keep your body in perfect condition and fight against sicknesses and keep you fit

That's true, and it's more expensive to get out when you break down in health.
