Owambe Extravaganza: One Like None Other

When I used to hear the word "Owambe", I thought it just meant party and any simple party can be referred to as an Owambe. But until this particular party I attended, I understood that these people took their time to showcase what an Owambe is and it was everything unimagined.

It went so fast for me that I couldn't take pictures immediately I walked inside the hall and began to experience everything they had prepared before arrival. It's not an Owambe experience if I don't start from my preparations and my journey in finding where the venue was at, story long sha.

The Owambe event was an Annual Safety Workshop & Membership Induction Ceremony held a day to my final exams as a safety trainer last year. Believe me, the only purpose I had to attend and what they made me think was to go learn from my sunbaes (my seniors) in training.

Well, I won't say I didn't take a lot of notes while I was there because they actually shared a lot of safety terms and infos I needed for my exam. But the rest of the party was an highlight for me. Finding the venue wasn't easy but the exterior of the place didn't do justice to what I saw inside.

The whole event was powered and sponsored by the wealthy officers who have been making really huge cash for promoting safety in the country. I saw the Nigerian president of the safety program and there was the aura he had on as he spoke about safety to make anyone want to learn more.

The hall was well designed with fine linens, balloons and other decorations with beautiful not so bright lights. The dj, the Mc and music were in good sync to keep us all excited until the very end. It was one of the parties I've attended that I didn't have to wait for too long before it started.

We, the present trainers as at then, were seated at a round table that was well designed like we were even the stars of the party. I couldn't go close to the table of the stars of the show, those who were being inducted as safety officers. But the whole event was a beauty to behold for real.

The highlight for me was the enjoyment part, from snacks to a whole plate of delicious arrangements. It was a serve yourself but it felt like it because everyone had their fill as there was enough to go round. I think it's because it was an event based on invitation, not just anyone can go in, kinda made it special hehe.

It's so sad I didn't take much pictures while I was there, don't know how it skipped my mind but my eyes did see things I had thought only happen in the movies lol. It was an Owambe experience I would love to have again, but until then, the memories I have from this is one to cherish.

Here is something for @sam.hangout
