My Hive Challenges And Strategies To Grow

avatar

No one told me it was going to be easy growing an account here on Hive so all I've faced trying to grow here didn't come as a surprise but rather, a chance to learn something new and grow even bigger and better. Joining Hive back then meant more than just earning for me, I knew I had to create what people would love to read or be creative at some point to get the attention I lacked back then.

For newbies like I was when I first joined, everything looks complicated and not easy to follow up. No friends, little or no idea on what to blog about and most importantly, no idea on how to grow one's account.

But I saw all that as challenges I would have to overcome somehow to grow and here I am today looking back to say it was all worth it. I still have a long way to go in growing my account, learning more and helping others find Hive but I love how far I've come regardless of the challenges I've been faced with.

I would have given a long list of challenges I faced when I first joined Hive but I've overcome most of them so I'm just going to focus on the ones I face presently and battling to overcome. They are not too big challenges not to handle as compared to when I joined but they are the ones I'm faced with so I might just have to share them and also reveal the ways I go about overcoming them to grow my account.

Writer's Block

I think a lot of regular bloggers do have this as a challenge so I'm not the odd one here. If anyone had told me in 2021 that I would have so many contents on my blog today, I wouldn't have believed it as I didn't think I'd have much to share even though I enjoy writing. But today, fighting through daily challenge of having no idea of what to write, I have a lot of contents. In an attempt to fight writer's block more seriously, I've been chasing to get the Hivebuzz yearly badge which I hope to get by the end of the year... One post a day no matter what.

The strategy I use here is: When I can't think of an idea for a content, I create videos of songs I know since I'm a music lover. When I really want to write, I browse for topics in different communities or social media platforms. These strategy has helped me a lot to stay consistent even if I experience writer's block.

Staying true to Quality & Originality

It's one thing to have an idea of what to blog about, it's another thing to share what others haven't read before or would be interested to read. This aspect of being on Hive hasn't been easy for me but it is my aim to achieve it to an extent, I want to have a blog that would reflect who I am in a positive light and have no excuse for not giving only the best (quality).

The strategy I use here is: Giving personal touches to my blogs, using original or self designed images, hating plagiarism and focusing on the niche I am comfortable with when I'm having difficulty on what to blog about so I don't give less quality.

Getting support to grow my Hive rewards

First of all, I tell myself that I won't get good support daily and sometimes I would have to do without rewards for some actions I take on Hive. So it just kinda have me less expectant and growing at the pace I can. I still find this challenging as I do have a goal of not powering down anytime soon but having more expenses and low support on my content could lead to that. Because of this, I try to do better with how I present myself on the blockchain to increase my chances with support.

The strategy I use here is: Engaging with people, asking questions, browsing and exploring new sides to Hive, joining contests and initiatives, and most importantly, not giving up even when there's a low reward on some of my contents.

These challenges make being on Hive for me more engaging, worthwhile and inspiring. I get to learn so much while I deal with each of them and I also grow my account and become a better person in the real world. Challenges do not last, so I learn as much as I can while they are there.

That's so weird👀
You sure you have challenges because I doubt you have one, machinery😅

Seems you wrote my challenges 🌚🌚 especially the last one just that like you said, giving up isn't an option but it really can be demoralising

How did I write your challenges when I was trying to write mine 🥲

It can be demoralising, that is very correct but then, no giving up 💯

It's funny how the days I have writers block are the days I write more... It's good to know I'm not alone on that

Thanks for sharing your your experience with us. I think most people who have been on this space long enough can identify these same bottlenecks. Those who have scaled through have been able to grow not just their accounts but their social capital on the chain. And i will encourage anyone reading this to do the same

I was patiently waiting for you and nkem's post on the challenges you faced on hive 👀

I thought it was a different kind challenge you faced but turns out that it's the same kind of challenge I and many other newbies are facing right now on the blockchain 🥲

There can't be more different challenges than what many of us face here, I think the strategy to overcome them is what may differ more.

Thank you for sharing this. It's crazy because with how consistent you've been on the chain, I would have never thought you experience writer's block. I just thought you had found a way to overcome it.
Your strategy for bypassing it though is amazing and I will definitely try it out.

Planning to acquire the Hive Buzz yearly badge is quite a big goal, kudos to you on getting there, I'm rooting for you dear! Thanks for sharing this with us🤗

These are great tips you've shared and no one embarks on a new journey without facing challenges, I am not indifferent and I think I use some of your strategies here as well.

This is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this. I really think I may have lost touch with a lot which explains the constant struggle I may face. I don’t want to use my job as an excuse. I feel my quality had dropped and I hate it. Time to build back.
