𝑨𝒏 "𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓" 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 - My Dream Parenting

avatar

Everyone who desires to own a family wants to be the best parent, but while some would succeed in keeping that up, many have failed to even be close to better and are far from what they had planned when they have a family. It's no surprise how kids who grow up under the care of parents who have failed in their duties, they dream of becoming better but somehow have a repeat of the same thing.

I've seen too many cases of parents failing and it rubs off in their kids when they own a family too.

I wouldn't want my case to be like and thankfully, I have the best dad in the world. I mean, I couldn't ask for a more better one than the one I was blessed with. He had every reason to leave my siblings and I in the care of other people when his wife left him but no, he stayed and didn't just stay, he did his best in parenting his children.

When I think of my dream parenting, my dad always comes up as my role model but I wouldn't want to be a single parent like he was so I'm definitely going to be better than he was. It's fair that way, I'm sure he would agree with me.

And when I think of dad as my role model, I think of an "All Rounder" Parent. But this wouldn't be about me acting like a dad to my kids, it just me as a mum diversifying, changing personalities and being a little good at almost everything for the sake of my kids.

I want to be a mother to my kids in many ways

First of all, I gave birth to them and I have been given the responsibility to mother them. Making sure they never feel like they don't have a mother or their mother don't love them enough is what I must always keep in mind and work on daily all my life with them. How I plan to make sure of that is quite a lot when I think about it but I would love it because I know the result and effects would be good.

A Listener - One of the things I know helped me a lot growing up was having people around who listened to me. This aspect wasn't all good for me as there were the ones who gave bad advices after they listened and the ones who saved me after listening. I want to be a mother that listens to her kids and my prayer is to make them very free with me to talk to me first whenever before they do to a friend. That way, I get to give them my best advice and still have them decide how to go about it.

A Playmate - I've seen families that have no time for their kids at all but just focus on making sure their kids are in the best schools and are feeding fine. I would want that for my kids but definitely not that part of not spending time with them. I love and enjoy playing even up till now and I plan to do more of it with my kids. I wouldn't even mind having them call me up from work that they want to play with me hehe.

A Jack of all trades - Not all trades exactly but I see myself being my children's hair Stylist to look good, a musician when they have to sleep or have fun with singing, a story teller when they want a family time before bed time, a jobless mum when they need more of my time at some point, a cleaner, a disciplinarian, a clown, an award giver, a baker, a study mate, a financial planner, a teacher, a gist mate and a lot more.

A friend and more - While I'd want my kids to keep good friend out there, I think it makes a lot of sense to be their first good friend. I want to have real and amazing connection with my kids right from when they are little that they wouldn't ever feel like they aren't in the best family they could ever ask for. A lot of times, I've always thought and smiled to the fact that I am in the best family even if I didn't grow with my mum. It makes me imagine a family where my kids have their dad and I looking out for them together.

I want to be a lot of things for my kids and that means giving a lot of my time to watch them grow in love and best behaviour that would tell well of them even when they are alone in a new place. My dad did his best for my siblings and I, I want to be the best parent my kids ever had too.

I wish all of this for you dear Merit. Growing up with an amazing Dad, I understand the need for you to live up and more. I have a one-year-old and every day I remind myself of how I'm supposed to be a better human for him.

Well done girl.

Wow, your unborn kids should be smiling wherever they are now 😍. Your Dad had been doing great with his parenting despite being a single parent and I am happy you understand that having both parents nurture the kids will be more better and that you will work towards that..nice
A lot of parents do not devote quality time for their kids and it's not always ending well..glad to know the kind of parent you aspire to be and it's great πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘
I wish you all the best my dear

These are things that I think that some parents fail to see. They are so focused on being parents that they lose sight of whatever needs their kids may have. I’d love to be one that my kids can tell everything too. Hehe.

It is one of the things I didn't get to find in my parents, wouldn't want such to repeat

When I was a little child I used to picture the kind of family I would like to build. But now I am into the family building but i am yet to fulfill the plan I have for my family.

Lol...a jobless Mom? Motherhood is a full-time job in its own right.

I think that those of us that missed certain aspects of being patented have a kind of perspective to parenthood of our own, where we would want tone there in those areas that we missed as kids. Being single-parented for that reason isn't cool on some days.

Yeah it is but it doesn't mean I won't work to earn. Just going to take breaks sometimes for them hehe.

You are right, our perspective is greatly influenced by how we were brought up. I'm not planning to be single parented though πŸ‘€
