My Decision Making Process: Navigating Twists & Turns

(Edited)

Sometimes, I wish I could go back to my childhood where all the decisions about my life were made by the elderly ones and I only need to worry of how to chew and swallow the food I get from their hardwork to make sure I eat well. It's funny but I've wished that a number of times.

At a point after that wish, I am reminded that even them were once children who didn't worry about much until they had responsibilities and I'm one of their responsibilities. Today, I have more responsibilities than I did years ago and even a few months ago. It just keeps growing.

Making decisions gets easier by experiences but somehow new problems arises and requires new approaches that if not well done could lead to more problems and not that we pray for it, we loss more that way. In my first experiences with making decisions, I would let fear overtake me.

Thankfully, I overcame the fear by understanding that my life is my own and only I have the right to make decisions that will bring me happiness and the success I seek. Even with that, one issue I always face with my decision making is letting others view influence my decisions sometimes.

I tend to listen to what others have to say about making decisions I've taken, even the ones that is concerns only my life. I fear twists that I may not be able to handle by myself so letting someone else influence my decision seem like a more assurance that I won't be alone if things go bad.

Is there any who have never made bad decisions even when they thoroughly make one? That's almost impossible and I'm one of those who have made a lot of bad decisions amidst the good ones. While I regret some of them, they have each taught me something new in my life.

My process in making decisions is quite simple but can be very complicating when I have a big one to decide on and especially when it involves others, my family. I've learned to make my own life's decisions my way but the decisions about others, I make sure to know their thoughts first.

One of my hacks to making the right decisions even when I'm unsure is asking God for guidance, I don't do this as often as I should but whenever I do, I feel some kind of relief when I proceed with the decisions made. Not all of these decisions go well but I would always learn something off it. I learn from my own experiences and from others.

Another thing I do when I want to make decisions for myself is eliminating the fear of failure or uncertainties, someone said "when you fear to fail, you are a failure already". I try to remember that more often and it has helped me make even rash decisions without much complications in the future but of course, I still make bad ones.

We can never go wrong relying on God for directions…it’s always a great choice when torn in between opinions

Yes sometimes we feel so
With decision power comes the responsibility . We get responsible for the decisions we make. And the time when we had no responsibility appears so golden.

If we we fear from failure,we will bot be able to make any decision. There must be one motto behind every decision
“Either win or learn “

That's a really good motto and I'll try to remember that often.

Most children are always in a rush to become adult, little did we know about what it feels to take responsibility for own decisions. Having to re-live the consequences of our decisions, over and over again is exhausting.

Fear sometimes is also a reminder to be mindful of not repeating our mistakes. Instead of eliminating fear, I prefer to control it because it is part of humans defence mechanism.

Yeah very true, controlling the fear is what we can actually do, it's impossible to eliminate it totally.

I think there is no one who never made any bad decision. We all made mistakes and taken wrong decisions but we learned from it and it's a process through which we can make our next decisions better. isn't it?

Childhood life was very easy and there was no tension in life. Life was spent in the same way, laughing and playing, but now we see that
