Forever Young: The Allure And Angst Of Immortality

One thing I've always loved about movies is the way they make the impossible look real and even dare to make you think it's possible somehow or if you believe it will. Long life/immortality is one of the few I know is impossible but I admire the fact that I see a possibility of it in their storylines.

One story I remember very well is the protagonist living for millennium years as a punishment or curse I'd say, he had to watch all the people he loved and drew close to himself, die one after the other even though some lived quite a long life. He keep getting broken at every death he witnessed.

He had all the beauty of living for that long but he still waits for the day he would die and leave the world, the day never came and instead he was seen as a mini god by other humans, especially the ones who serve him closely. Until the end, he was able to live a normal life and death came.

It's in storylines like this you see the characters are so happy in their dying moment because the immortality is about to come to an end, considering all they've had to deal with it as immortals especially, dealing with mortals. Death is a scary thing and it's definitely a reason to want long life but immortality is a long stretch.

The Allure Of Immortality: is in immortality itself, I would never die and live in the age I love so much for as long as forever. Having immortality on the market for me to purchase would definitely seem like a blessing for me at first because of the simple fact that I'll escape death.

Building wealthy unspoken of is another allure of immortality I would think of to want to purchase it. Maybe it's the movies that make it seem this way but I see the sense in it for a smart brain who is opportune to live for so long. All the hacks and plans to make wealth, you'd get it and there would be no fear of death to cut your plan short.

Having a continuous growth of knowledge is inevitable with such a long life, there's only a little limit to not know everything about the world and whatever as an immortal who is curious about everything. A forever life is not so different from God himself, it comes with a huge responsibility.

The Angst Of Immortality: The allures were quite tempting but if I should find immortality on the market for purchase, I'll pass for these downside. There are too many of them and one of them is also the allure of it, forever life. I love the idea of living forever but not as the human that I am now.

Christians are promised a forever after leading a good life here on earth, I want that one instead and I'll do the purchase if it's this kind but that impossible too. I don't want to live so long and watch my loved ones die one after the other, including the ones who came after me, it's scary.

Immortality overrides the essence of human life, mortality. It could mean there would be no sickness to fall into for you to appreciate good health and of course, no way to appreciate the act of staying alive like other humans who appreciate life do. Immortality is impossible to buy and even if it is, I would never go for the buy.
