Digital Devices & My Daily Activities - Too Much Involvement?
If you're reading this post, congratulations! you've found a community closest to you to share your digital life stories. I can already sense that this community will make a lot of us realize what digital devices are doing to us, for us and even how some are against us as we continue to explore and share our own experiences.
The world has gone digital for a long time now and more ideas are coming in. From letter writing to sending texts, from crossing seas and mountains to flying space crafts, the digital way of life is evolving but let's come closer to the devices I use that is making me ask myself Is it not too much?

I don't know about others but there is almost nothing I do now without the involvement of digital help whether through devices or online videos. Well, aside eating and relieving myself of course, there are only a few things I can do that I wouldn't need any help from the online world. Everyday, there are regular devices I use and some I get introduced to.
How much do you think is too much? Hear me out first.
In the morning I'm up with my phone turned on to check the time of the day since a wall clock has lost it's value to me. And somehow, my phone data turns on without me realizing I hit the button myself to check for any message to reply. Browsing through Hive is a must when I wake up and that gives me a kinda head start for what I have to do on Hive that day.
If I have a lot to do that day, you'll see me setting up alarms to remind me for the specific time I set it to. For more than half of my day, I'm on my phone, chatting away or browsing for new knowledge or watching videos as digital science have made it possible for me to ditch away dvd or cd players. I still get surprised when I see people who use it when there is Gotv and Netflix to use instead.
How about my love for location option? I don't go anywhere new without opening a Google map on my phone, locate where I am going from where I am and I'm on the way like a pro who knows where she is going to. Since I found the ease in using this, I've become a regular user and it has been helpful to me.
Learning new recipes and trying them out offline are all thanks to digital help so can I really say it's too much? No, it isn't. It has been provided for the sole purpose of making life more easier for me, I'll only have to worry about not over using these opportunities to create problems for myself.
And by problem, I mean, not being able to do anything once these options are unavailable or getting addicted to the wrong use of digital devices, there is always a bad side to everything.
I use digital devices available to me for ease as there are more problems to solve than adding to them what devices can help with. So tell me, how much do you think is too much when you use digital devices?

You use Google Maps like that too? Me too! It helps me not ask around for directions and makes traveling easy.
My everyday revolves around on thing or another in the digital space. It only makes sense to turn to them as they can make life much easier and doing things more efficient. Surely, there could be issues if my access to them is cut off, like that recently when we had severe internet problems.
I can not not use them when I'm travelling 😅 very important and it actually saves time and expenses if you know what I mean.
That internet problem got me real bad, can't even imagine what would have happened if it had continued.
I know what you mean, actually. The time and money you'd waste if you don't know where you're going is not small.
I'd it had continued, a lot of problems would have risen. No transfers, no Hive, no social media, banks won't function. It would be a national crisis.
Was it all lines that went bad for you then?
National crisis indeed
Not all the lines but where I was, MTN worked better
Nice. MTN was the worst where I was.
Lol life nor balance
My phone gotta be the first thing I take whenever I wake up...infact it is my sleep partner. It's an addiction I am trying to break.
But then everything I do each day revolves around my phone and laptop, making it difficult to stop.
I use my phone on a rather profound constant throughout the day. I start the day checking my Hive account and write, reply, respond to mentions. I also do some Hive work in the evenings.
During the day it is Chrome/Google, Google maps, weather apps and so much more that I use my time on. Not to mention Whatsapp...
But phones have become massive productivity tools that we just cannot ditch! They are mini computers.
That said. Social media and games and advertising have a way to drain our time from the important stuff.
That's true, we can't argue that but we could find ways to balance things up for the sake of the important stuffs.
Our phones are mini computers indeed 😅
Thanks for stopping by @zakludick
Indeed. One must still live life!
