CineTv Contest: From Simba To Mufasa "A Timeless Disney's Story"

Walt Disney has made a huge impact in the childhood of many and I'm no exception. I had a long list of their movies to choose one from but I could only decide on this one that had a recent release that gave us a storyline I never thought I needed... So it's more like "Mufasa to simba" lol.

I can still remember how excited my siblings and I get whenever we are about to see our favourite Disney animation movies even after the countless times we had seen them since dad got the discs for us. It's for a fact that I was exposed to a few Disney movies and they were fun for me.

For the prompt, we're asked to share our favourite Disney movie and out of the many favourites I have, "The Lion King" came on strong to go for the pick. You can say it's the recent release that brought all the memories about the old animated movie back and I feel excited now.

It's one of those movies in my childhood that I could sit to watch with my siblings and we'd talk along with the characters in almost every scene because of how often we saw it and how much we enjoyed it every time we chose to see it. "Snowhite and the seven dwarfs" got close tho.

"The Lion King" has a prequel revealing a story we never thought happened before the Simba we love, Snowhite also has a dark truth to it that I found out and it made me feel like my time with these movies during my childhood were made into a bit of a waste. Well, it was fun back then!

"The Lion King" is a Walt Disney animation franchise, one released in the year 1994, another in 1998 and the last one in 2019, long before the most recent one in 2024. And up till now, I still think it has been a masterpiece for kids to enjoy their childhood especially with the excitement.

I'm not going to talk about the storyline but I remember most of the songs from it because of the many times I sang it with family, friends and classmates during break time. The songs in the movie taught me the power good songs holds in a movie, it keeps the memory longer in viewers.

Watching the trailer of the movie today was so nostalgic for me, I smiled and reminisced about so many things from my little girl era spent with my siblings when dad's away and had made sure we have our favourite disney movies in place for us to stay home and not go out playing rough lol.

"Mufasa: The Lion King" is the most recent (2024) release and not actually a follow up of the masterpiece story but kind of like a beginning to a story my childhood believed. I didn't hesitate to see it when I saw it was out and on the apps I can have it downloaded, I was overjoyed rather.

The first thing I took note of, was the musical part of it, like it was in the franchise before it. Still can't get some of the songs off whenever I remember the movie, especially the one about "My Brother". I think this is another masterpiece that we never thought we needed so long ago.

Finding out what happened before Scar became who Scar was in the story I believed as a child, was both sad and nostalgic. I don't know about others but I thought back to all Scar did as the villain in the stories when I learnt about Mufasa. Indeed, Disney did my childhood a sweet favour.
