Aiding First & Fast - A Day With The Red Cross Kit
One of the kind of movies I love to see are the ones with medical focused storylines and it isn't just because I'm attracted with doctors and how much they are doing for the world, I'm more fascinated by how fast they can be when it comes to saving the world. Of course, there are the ones you wished never got a license but for the true doctors out there, they are worth learning from everyday.
So I see movies that takes me on a steady stream of possible actions that could take place in a hospital as I didn't get the opportunity to frequent any as a patient or a practitioner. I didn't even grow around any doctor who could have taught me some things first hand at home, dad wasn't good with health treatment in the English way.
It wasn't so bad, at least I was good at giving prescription for some injuries using herbal treatments which worked and it has helped in a lot of ways, thanks to dad's teachings. But for the English way of treating first and fast, I've only seen others made use of the first aid box or at least have it at home.
The first time I experienced a first aid used on me was when I was in my nysc camp, the story was a funny one actually but I'll share.
I went to camp a day after I had just concluded a malaria treatment so I was still taking some drugs while I was in camp, I didn't think the drugs would weigh me down in any way since it never did when I was at home. I never knew it was going to be different since I wasn't always relaxing like I was at home. That day under the sun, my eyes began to feel dizzy and I was so sure I'd faint.
I squatted down to at least avoid falling from too high lol, when a girl with the red cross came to me and asked me to pretend that I'm about to faint if they don't take me out of the camp ground 😂 I was really surprised because I never thought I'd have anything to do with that section until I left camp.
Well, the actor in me still came out and I was taken out of the camp ground. The next thing that followed shocked me, the others rushed me to check on whatever was wrong with me. While some were using a fan on me, others were preparing a place for me to lie down. I couldn't even dare say it wasn't that bad, I just obeyed their aid recommendations and rested there.
Well, it didn't end there as I was sent to the clinic but I'll stop the story to share what I really want to say about the topic. The most important reason a first aid box was created was for the person who is to use it to be fast and I've witnessed a lot of cases where being fast makes the first aids do it's work before the main treatment.
At home, we do not have a first aid box but I've worked in places where the people in charge make sure to have them in place and even though I never saw some make use of it, I liked that they took that into consideration. Can I use a first aid kit? I most definitely can even though I've never used it before and that's because I've learned how to use it before such a time would present itself.

I'm glad you didn't faint, and it was a very smart move to get low in case you did. I'm glad they took good care of you! First Aid kits are a great thing to have, you never know when you need one.
That's true, you never know when you need one.
Thanks
