A Neighborhood Saga: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
The thought of living in different places and having different neighbors everywhere, got me curious to read from others what it is like in their neighborhood. For someone who has lived in more than 10 different neighborhoods, some things never change with the kind of neighbours I meet.
Not bad mostly but I'm curious to know if it's just my family and I being lucky or there really are such neighbours in every neighborhood. So far from what I've read, good people really exist and sadly, the bad and ugly too. When I say ugly, I mean attitude or behaviours that just don't go well with people around.
I can't remember very well how it was in the first neighborhood I grew up in but from the pictures dad have kept, we did have a great neighborhood considering how they took pictures together and my siblings and I were so lovable that all our neighbors wanted to take us out for fun. One thing I've believed over time is that, a lot of people tend to give the same energy back.
My dad definitely falls under the "Good Neighbor" category and not because he is my dad but because I've lived with a lot people in my life. And I've seen how he relates with his neighbours, the jovial and "helper" kind, always ready to help even if it's not in his power to at that time.
Over time, I've learned the hard way to know how to live around neighbours and most of the time, I keep a good rapport among them. I've lived in a neighborhood where the neighbours could go weeks, months and years keeping malice with each other but somehow, my family is on good terms with all of them. I honestly don't know how but I think dad played a big role in that.
A neighbourhood I'll never forget was the one my family lived during my early secondary school days. The neighborhood was a very big one with just the landlord and a wealthy man having the bigger houses in it, the rest were a "face me I face you" rooms. With the large number of neighbors, one would think it will be hard to keep peace with everyone but that wasn't the case.
We all had and share a lot of things in common, from taking care of kids when their parents aren't around, to cooking more than the number in a house to share with a neighbour or more neighbours. Dad was almost always at work so our neighbors contributed greatly in raising us up, I remember a neighbor's older son who took it upon himself to educate us everyday when we get back from school.
While there are men who just waste away their time playing games everyday, there were men who worked hard to take care of their family, the kids were mostly brilliant and we all played together like we were a big family. Until today and even tomorrow, I'm very sure I'll never forget my life in that neighborhood. The good was so over the bad and ugly of that neighborhood.
I didn't give account of my recent neighborhood but I do have three different ones I'm experiencing at different timing in just this year, it's not been so bad but I hope for a better neighbor to neighbor relationship as time goes on. I believe I've been blessed with great neighbors until now anyways.

That's actually surprising. Face-me-I-slap you houses have the craziest drama daily. You and your family were lucky. Are you still connected to that kind man that taught you every day?
Only dad is a few months ago but not anymore I guess, he told us about him being all very matured and pursuing so much in life hehe. He was still a very young guy then.
I guess good things do come to good people. Good for him.

Every neighborhood comes with it's own drama, sometimes we leave a neighborhood thinking we have escaped the drama but never, the drama follows us n
Lol that's kinda scary, but some are always for our good.
