I feel like the step we took today is one of those you remember for a lifetime. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m usually in bed at this hour, but I’m feeling very much at peace.

Every single time I’ve invited someone onto Hive, I’ve tried to refine my pitch, if you will. Why do people need to join? What does this place offer? Who is Hive for? A storm of questions brewing inside my head, as doubt creeped into my conversations. The truth is that Hive can be for everyone, but that starts with us shifting the way we look at this blockchain we call home.

I’ve written at length about how Hive needs to evolve from just “the blogging thing” it has been for so long, and be all that it can be. But one thing is to talk about it, another completely is to see it with your own eyes.

Well… today we onboarded a key economic hub of the area. The store (@supermarketleo) that everyone shops at now accepts Hive. You see, this little store has literally everything you need, if you live around these parts that is. And it follows the tendency locals have to buy in small amounts, every single day.

An interesting detail for foreigners, I’ve come to find. People here buy precisely what they are going to consume that very day. A normal sale might only be a few dollars, since vegetables and produce are quite cheap, surprisingly so, I might add.

My wife and I shop here every single week. We buy our coffee from Leo, our milk, and yes of course, all the vegetables we use for cooking. Fun fact: they seem to be the only ones that carry certain things (like sweet potatoes), so I always end up going back.

This little supermarket is going to make a world of difference for our onboarding efforts. I mean, who doesn’t need produce? Aliens? Maybe they eat fruits too. How would we know?

As you might imagine, my pitch for onboarding people onto Hive just got ten times stronger, and I can’t wait to blow people’s minds with the news.

Regardless of what the ticker says… I’m incredibly bullish, my friends.

Siento que el paso que dimos hoy es uno de esos que recuerdas toda la vida. Tal vez sea porque normalmente a esta hora ya estoy en la cama, pero me siento muy en paz.

Cada vez que he invitado a alguien a Hive, he intentado mejorar mi presentación, por decirlo así. ¿Por qué la gente necesita unirse? ¿Qué ofrece este lugar? ¿Para quién es Hive? Un torbellino de preguntas rondando en mi cabeza, mientras la duda se metía en mis conversaciones. La verdad es que Hive puede ser para todos, pero eso empieza con cambiar la manera en que vemos esta blockchain que llamamos hogar.

He escrito mucho sobre cómo Hive necesita evolucionar de ser solo “esa cosa de blogs” que ha sido por tanto tiempo, y convertirse en todo lo que puede ser. Pero una cosa es hablar de ello, y otra completamente distinta es verlo con tus propios ojos.

Bueno… hoy incorporamos un centro económico clave de la zona. La tienda donde todos compran ahora acepta Hive. Verás, esta tiendita tiene literalmente todo lo que necesitas, si vives por aquí, claro. Además, sigue la costumbre local de comprar en pequeñas cantidades, todos los días.

Un detalle interesante para los extranjeros, he notado. La gente aquí compra exactamente lo que va a consumir ese día. Una venta normal puede ser de solo unos pocos dólares, ya que los vegetales y productos frescos son bastante baratos, sorprendentemente baratos, diría yo.

Mi esposa y yo compramos aquí cada semana. Compramos nuestro café a Leo, la leche, y sí, por supuesto, todos los vegetales que usamos para cocinar. Un dato curioso: parecen ser los únicos que venden ciertas cosas (como camotes), así que siempre termino regresando.

Este pequeño supermercado va a marcar una gran diferencia en nuestros esfuerzos de onboarding. Digo, ¿quién no necesita productos frescos? ¿Aliens? Quizá ellos también comen frutas. ¿Cómo sabríamos?

Como te imaginarás, mi presentación para invitar gente a Hive ahora es diez veces más fuerte, y no puedo esperar para sorprender a la gente con esta noticia.

Sin importar lo que diga el precio… Estoy increíblemente optimista, amigos.
