I feel like this PSA is very much needed. I don't want to evoke the ire of people because I seem to be spamming comments inside Snaps. Well, @menoshops—but turns out, that's me too.

A productive day of developing, all in all. I was able to fix the image uploading issue, and it took a lot of research to overcome that hurdle. Fun fact: I've signed up for a free service called Cloudinary to host my app’s images. If the app takes off, I might have to migrate this—but that's what I would call a good problem to have.

My dear wife has been giving me a lot of feedback too. Valuable feedback, I should add. Turns out the app is Wife-approved—and that’s saying some big words. She's got Slavic standards tattooed into her soul, and as such, “good enough” isn’t even in her vocabulary. But that’s probably why I love her too.

Seeing me work on this for hours upon hours has also inspired her to contribute with some graphics. She says my logo is not up to par and will be contributing the correct logo. Notice the word correct, not better, being used here.

I want to thank my friends who have reached out and offered help. I find it pretty amazing that other Hiveans would take the time to teach this old dog new tricks. Another reason why I’m so passionate about this place.

You know, I’m biased—I know. But I really think my way of handling conversations in the app is going to make Snaps on PeakD feel cumbersome by comparison. Am I talking smack right now? Maybe. But maybe I’m not off either. I guess we’ll see.

I’ll share something pretty awesome that happened today as well. My older brother has decided to get more involved in Hive. He’s offered to rework my Point of Sale app and turn it into a full-blown native app. We had a lot of back and forth about the logic and functionality, and not long ago he sent me an APK for my tablet. It’s already looking great. That said, we’re also talking about backend work—a full-blown solution.

Enough typing, enough coding for a day. I’m tired, but I’m also satisfied—despite all the problems I’m holding on my shoulders.

Siento que este mensaje de servicio público es necesario. No quiero provocar la ira de la gente por parecer que estoy spameando comentarios dentro de Snaps. Bueno, @menoshops—pero resulta que ese también soy yo.

Un día productivo de desarrollo, en general. Pude solucionar el problema de carga de imágenes, y me tomó bastante investigación superar ese obstáculo. Dato curioso: me registré en un servicio gratuito llamado Cloudinary para alojar las imágenes de mi app. Si la app despega, tal vez tenga que migrar eso—pero ese sería un buen problema para tener.

Mi querida esposa también me ha estado dando mucho feedback. Feedback valioso, debo decir. Resulta que la app tiene aprobación de la esposa—y eso son palabras mayores. Tiene los estándares eslavos tatuados en el alma, así que “lo suficientemente bueno” ni siquiera existe en su vocabulario. Pero probablemente por eso la amo también.

Verme trabajar en esto durante horas y horas también la inspiró a contribuir con algunos gráficos. Dice que mi logo no está a la altura y que va a aportar el logo correcto. Nótese: “correcto”, no “mejor”.

Quiero agradecer a mis amigos que se han acercado y ofrecido ayuda. Me parece increíble que otros hiveanos se tomen el tiempo para enseñarle trucos nuevos a este perro viejo. Otra razón por la que me apasiona tanto este lugar.

Sé que tengo un sesgo, lo sé. Pero realmente creo que mi forma de manejar las conversaciones en la app va a hacer que Snaps en PeakD se sienta torpe en comparación. ¿Estoy hablando tonterías? Tal vez. Pero tal vez no estoy tan equivocado tampoco. Ya veremos.

También quiero compartir algo genial que pasó hoy. Mi hermano mayor ha decidido involucrarse mucho más en Hive. Se ofreció a rehacer mi app de punto de venta y convertirla en una app nativa completa. Hablamos mucho sobre la lógica y funcionalidad, y hace poco me mandó un APK para mi tablet. Ya se ve bastante bien. Además, estamos hablando de trabajo de backend—una solución completa.

Suficiente tipeo, suficiente código por hoy. Estoy cansado, pero también satisfecho. A pesar de todos los problemas que cargo sobre los hombros.
