Hello Mr. Mosquito
Got home last night around midnight. Literally took the last bus towards Salinas, which is the closest city to us, and then haggled with a cab driver for the last hour drive.
Not much can change in 24 hours, of course, but since it's been raining cats and dogs, we did find ourselves having to cruise at slower speeds to avoid accidents. The always dangerous mudslides spread about the way, reminding us that driving at the speed limit was reserved for daredevils.
Our driver seemed exhausted, and so was I, but I made it a point to spark conversations to keep us entertained to keep us awake. Funnily enough, I can't remember what we spoke of precisely, but the fact this weekend is an important holiday here in Ecuador, got brought up both in anecdotes and friendly warnings.
My exhaustion so deep, the buzzing of mosquitoes didn't bother me enough to rob me from finding my pillows, and I can possibly say with confidence my blood will be used to bring about thousands of these little fookers into the world in the next coming days.
At any rate, I'm glad to be home.
MenO
