First workshop is done, four more onboards (Eng/Esp)

One down, a thousand to go. Actually, that may not be an exaggeration. Not even a month ago I was hanging out in discord with some friends, when the topic of workshops came up. How often should they be held? How do you build the community from the ground up? You know, the typical questions one wonders when you sink into the deep end of the pool. I may not know with precision how many I will do, but If we want to to take off, it needs to be as common as rain.

For our first workshop, I thought it went really well. Most of the conversation was philosophical, something I fully expected, but in my opinion it needs to begin there. As I've said before, there is no way you can teach someone a solution, if they've not identified the problem. Again, this one workshop won't teach someone how to be a proper Hivean, but hopefully it will teach them why they should become one, and I think that's plenty good for day one.

In total we signed up for new accounts: @byron2025 , @israelsurf11 , @cabezasoljackson , @michael052 - But we also had the chance to teach more to @aniaf79 and @gabodls25 who have been technically onboarded more than a week ago, but are yet to fully dive in.

As per usual some people cancelled, and some didn't even bother to send a message, but such a thing needs to not bother me one bit. Truth is that I can definitely see a time, when it won't be me @jersonsweetplace and myself reaching out to people, but instead people reaching out to us.

I sat down with Jerson after the workshop was done to discuss strategies. How can we improve, how can we scale, that sort of thing. Jerson with his signature hunger, tells me he thinks he can talk with the water utility company. I had do my best to contain myself, as he was sharing such an idea. That, my friends, would be jet fuel to our efforts.

At the expense of sounding a little ignorant, I have to ask. Is there a place in the world today where people pay their utility bills with Hive? I mean, I know that in Venezuela people pay with crypto, but I'm being specific here. You see where I'm going with this? If the Water Utility Company can effectively lower the operation costs, and lower it's customer's bills as well, this would be insanity in the best way possible. This is how we all win, and win hard.

At any rate, I'm happy today is over. I may be tired physically, but mentally I'm still plugged to the 220volt outlet. If I was still drinking, I would probably poor me a tall cup of wine to end the night.

Uno menos, mil por hacer. Y en realidad, puede que no sea una exageración. No hace ni un mes, estaba pasando el rato en Discord con algunos amigos cuando surgió el tema de los talleres. ¿Con qué frecuencia deberían hacerse? ¿Cómo se construye una comunidad desde cero? Ya sabes, las preguntas típicas que uno se hace cuando se lanza a la parte más profunda de la piscina. Puede que no sepa con precisión cuántos talleres haré, pero si queremos que esto despegue, tiene que ser tan común como la lluvia.

Para nuestro primer taller, creo que salió realmente bien. La mayor parte de la conversación fue filosófica, algo que esperaba por completo, pero en mi opinión, tiene que empezar ahí. Como he dicho antes, no se puede enseñar una solución a alguien si no ha identificado el problema. De nuevo, este primer taller no le enseñará a nadie cómo ser un buen Hiveano, pero espero que al menos les muestre por qué deberían convertirse en uno, y creo que eso ya es bastante bueno para el primer día.

En total, creamos nuevas cuentas: @byron2025, @israelsurf11, @cabezasoljackson, @michael052. Pero también tuvimos la oportunidad de enseñarles más a @aniaf79 y @gabodls25, quienes técnicamente ya estaban incorporados desde hace más de una semana, pero aún no se han sumergido del todo.

Como siempre, algunos cancelaron y otros ni siquiera se molestaron en enviar un mensaje, pero algo así no debería molestarme en lo más mínimo. La verdad es que puedo ver claramente un momento en que no seremos solo yo y @jersonsweetplace quienes busquemos a la gente, sino que será la gente la que nos busque a nosotros.

Me senté con Jerson después de que terminó el taller para hablar de estrategias. ¿Cómo podemos mejorar? ¿Cómo podemos escalar? Ese tipo de cosas. Jerson, con su hambre característica, me dijo que creía que podía hablar con la compañía de agua. Tuve que hacer lo posible por contenerme mientras compartía semejante idea. Eso, amigos míos, sería combustible para nuestros esfuerzos.

A riesgo de sonar un poco ignorante, tengo que preguntar: ¿existe algún lugar en el mundo hoy en día donde la gente pague sus facturas de servicios con Hive? Sé que en Venezuela la gente paga con cripto, pero aquí estoy siendo específico. ¿Ves a dónde quiero llegar? Si la compañía de agua pudiera reducir sus costos operativos de manera efectiva y también reducir las facturas de sus clientes, esto sería una locura en el mejor sentido posible. Así es como todos ganamos, y ganamos en grande.

De cualquier manera, estoy contento de que hoy haya terminado. Puede que esté cansado físicamente, pero mentalmente todavía estoy conectado al enchufe de 220 voltios. Si todavía bebiera, probablemente me serviría una copa grande de vino para terminar la noche.
