DigiByte & Hive Synergized: How we can thrive together

Woke up around 3 a.m., and for the life of me, I couldn’t go back to sleep. So, I figured I’d make myself useful and start writing out an idea.
To be honest, I’m not entirely sure who deserves the credit for the original concept—but I suspect @starkerz was the main brain behind the operation. After all, he’s the one running OneBitcoinClub.
That said, the following is just a blueprint. It can be easily tweaked and adapted to fit other cryptocurrency communities. In fact, I can clearly see this model onboarding all sorts of tribes that align with our values.
Unironically, I’m posting this in OneBitcoinClub to make that point. Ever since I joined, I’ve been stacking sats—effectively mining with my blog. How powerful is that?
It should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: the levers here—beneficiary percentages, the amount of Hive powered up for curation, the number of curators, etc.—all need to be adjusted to fit each community. I imagine anyone adopting this blueprint would be aiming for their own version of the goldilocks zone. So, keep that in mind as you read on.
Digibyte–Hive Integration Concept
Dedicated Digibyte Community + Frontend
Digibyte launches a branded Hive frontend (just like LeoFinance, Ecency, etc.).
5–10 trusted curators/admins are chosen to manage community activity and curation. (At the discretion of the Digibyte community of course)
The main DGB account powers up a large amount of HIVE to curate posts and build visibility.
Aims to:
Create their own space, control branding, and culture within Hive.
The challenge:
Launching a front end will require some dev work. The easiest choice would be to fork from our repositories and customizing it. But, there are plenty of Hiveans that can assist with some guidance here.
Dual-Wallet Requirement: Hive + DGB
Users must authenticate with:
A Hive account (for posting and earning Hive rewards).
A Digibyte wallet (to qualify for mirrored DGB rewards).
Aims to:
Creates cross-chain synergy (@ecoinstant inspired word) and real user connection. Reducing bots, spam and malicious actors with multiple accounts.
The challenge:
Creating a login/auth layer that supports wallet verifications. DBG signature check (my research this morning, please correct if needed) can work very much like Ethereum's "sign message" effectively proving ownership of a wallet. Proving ownership is all that is required.
Dual Rewards for Curated Posts
When a user’s post is curated:
They get upvoted (Hive rewards).
They receive instant Digibyte to their verified wallets (from a reward pool funded by the community).
Aims to: Add rocket fuel to engagement of the community. A combination of the long term staking system of Hive, and the instant impact of DGB tips on the best content.
The Challenge:
Writing a script or bot that would listen for these upvotes, the ones being triggered by the curating account, and would send DGB from the pool wallet to the verified account's wallet.
Frontend Tax (Post Tax) → Buys Digibyte
Community frontend takes 30% of HBD/HIVE post rewards (like OnebitcoinClub does)
Those funds are auto-converted into DGB and go to a treasury wallet.
That treasury funds the DGB rewards for future curated posts.
Aims to:
Creates organic buy pressure for Digibyte, closes the loop.
The Challenge:
A swap system (like BeeSwap or Tribaldex) and/or outside integration via a bot that sells for DGB on exchanges.
DGB Balance Ranking + Access Gating
To post, users must:
Prove they hold a minimum balance of Digibyte.
Be on the verified user list (based on their DGB wallet).
The frontend could showcase the following things:
A "Top HODLers" leaderboard.
Standard “Top Posts” feed.
Aims to: Incentivizes accumulation and social credibility through DGB holdings.
The Challenge:
A backend that checks wallet balances via API and updates rank in the frontend. This might be the trickiest part of the plan, but I'm sure a DGB developer can shed some light on this.
Why is this a great idea?
This implementation simply brings real utility to DGB without trying to reinvent anything on Hive or build yet another isolated blockchain.
Adds a new audience and incentive structure to Hive and its also mission-aligned with Hive (fast, decentralized, grassroots, community oriented).
Creates two parallel economies that support each other:
Hive for content creation and stake-based social consensus.
DGB for instant peer-to-peer value exchange and login identity.
Possible Next Steps
It could start very simple:
Build the community, launch the frontend, and manually reward curated posts with DGB as a first step.
Form a bridge dev group:
Involve one Hive dev (like from the Leo, 3Speak, or Splinter dev circles) and a Digibyte dev to prototype the login + reward trigger system.Document wallet linking process:
Could use something like signing a message and pasting it in a form to prove wallet ownership. Maybe offer incentives to the community to create easy to follow tutorials. I wouldn't hesitate to ask @neopch to work his magic here.
Some closing thoughts
I sincerely hope my fellow Hiveans see the potential in these sorts of partnerships, and actively seek to be welcoming to any new crypto community joining. The ability to synergize cross chains is a power of a kind we've not tapped into yet, and we honestly should.
Also, I would find it incredibly beneficial to be able to host a few of the Digibyte community leaders on a Jabber Talkie podcast. Maybe present this idea, but also introduce them to community once more. I do want to give @crimsonclad a huge shoutout for being so amazing at what she does.
Anyways, to much Jibber Jabber for a Tuesday morning.
Much love

Thanks for the shout out! I'm used to seeing stuff like bringing new communities on chain or talks shared often with a lot of the facilitation work stripped out— slap an ai summary on it and fire it off, or mention the platform but not the people involved. No one needs recognition, but it also feels lovely when someone actually sees you where you are and with what you're doing.
Cross chain and encouraging other web3 projects to start using our stack to support their own users and flesh out their offerings in a secure and ideological way that pushes the space forward has been a HUGE focus of mine. I've had some great luck with it and have more relationships being nurtured in the pipeline, but the reality is, this is the most natural and mutually beneficial way to build a better space while growing our own. Combining the best of many worlds, supporting other projects doing things well, and welcoming communities from all ranges of the spectrum is exactly how we keep Hive well distributed, well used, and well rounded. There is an excessive amount for us to learn from most other projects still, and there is no end to the value we offer as connective tissue and infra in return. My hope is we keep the passion and focus of maxis, while cultivating the thoughtfulness and flexibility of chain agnostics— and recognizing that new communities who come here will have fresh eyes, fresh blood, and fresh takes on the culture and building.
I've been talking at length with the DGB guys and there are a lot of ideas being bounced around for collabs and cross pollenation. I suspect we'll talk about this on the space in a few hours, as it was something we've gotten excited about to explore conceptually together! This is a nicely fleshed out take on some of the economic aspects and I'm going to cross post it into the DigiByte community :)
Ohh Crimmi...if only people knew how much you've done for this place for 8 years, they would build an altar just for you!
Excellent idea, but have the DGB community agreed to create such a reward pool ?
Not yet... but hey. Maybe there's a better idea out there too. I'm just sharing this one hoping they find value in it. I certainly see it like a win/win/win all around.
I've been hearing about DGB a lot lately. I have to be honest, I don't what that is but sound very interesting. I need to learn more.
!INDEED
I am interested, although I've been seeing digibyte, I just realize I don't know what it is other than a vague knowledge that it's used to pay for something.
Is there like an introductory post, white paper or something?...
Dude, we are on X right now.. come listen

Ohhh
On my way
I saw that someone from Digibyte had joined and got good votes. I would hope that other fans of the coin could join Hive. We also have some Dash people, so maybe this is the start of something. Hive ought to be a natural home for crypto communities.
Hive to me is the obvious choice... They are in Web2 still, great for them, but also means they can be shadow banned, throttled, or banned all together for any reason.
Here? They are in control of their community. Its a win/win.

#hive #posh
It is nice initiative
This type of partnership will definitely bring more Hive Power Holder in the platform
I love it
Thank you for sharing
Peace
Digibyte is a good project that might well be a good match with Hive ... and this is a good plan
