Building the Hot Node from Scratch
The design for the Hot Node is coming along. As always, I thought it would be a lot easier, but between scope creep and murphy, its taking a lot more effort to do. That said, this is exciting to me. But more importantly, this would be something other Hiveans could run as well, just as the Encoders.
Exciting times ahead.

We contacted asgarth about this already. Its a quick change, since the new interface got deployed and now sits on the legacy url. He integrated the new player already in snaps. But has not done so on posts. Ecency already has this up and running.
Nice. btw, what happened with the previous page? Wasn't it working anymore?
it has a lot of buggerinos... lots of things were holding on by boogers at this point. But even more important, cost. Legacy 3speak was bleeding out money. No more.

Maybe it doesn't have to store a video for 7 days, but rather to do occasional checks for views/traffic (to specific videos), and if they "aren't popular", move them to supernode BEFORE those 7 days... make space for videos that are viral and need speed...
On the other side, nothing is too viral on 3Speak, so that could be an idea for the future... 😃
