Life after school: Getting yourself ready for the world.

Namaste hivians. Welcome to my blog. Thank you @indiaunited for this week's contest. Interesting topic.

As a fresh graduate on this space. I'll say this topic resonates with me. Leaving and finishing school I will say is a great achievement. To some it can be very exciting, to some it's just another phase of life unraveled while for some it's just normal. Leaving school is the beginning of a whole new chapter.

Though I haven't finished everything yet, I finished my last paper in Uni last month and the feeling that came with that experience was outta this world. As a fresh school leaver I'll drop advice that I gave myself for others to learn too.

After a week, a random person came to my dm and asked what I wanted to do. He asked all manner of questions at a point I was even confused. Then a random thought came to mind. Some people have it all figured out and it's still okay not to have it all figured out, Just trust the process, gain more experience and be open to make changes anytime any day. That thought got stucked and I was able to give a reply. I told him that even after doing a particular course for years people actually change their career paths, some even become passionate about a new thing altogether. No need to PRESSURE

Second thing I told myself was that I'll never stop learning. Because I'm done with school for now doesn't mean learning has ended. Infact I learn everyday. Life is already a school, teaching you lessons you might not even get to learn from school or even hear from your lecturers. I have given myself a task to read widely. Its interesting to be able to adapt to every conversation and know one or two things about every other field apart from yours. There's this confidence that one gains from nonstop learning.

Another thing I'll advice too is that we shouldn't beat ourselves over mistakes made. Mistakes will always be made. Its not certain to get it perfect from the initial stage. When you fall it's advisable to get up, dust yourself, learn from the mistakes made and move on. Fear is mot going to help, if it's worth the risk, face it head-on. Someone I know always says:

"Fortune favors the Brave"

My pastor always tells us in church that we should not undermine the power of relationships. If you didn't build already, this is the right time to. Make sure to have good people around you always. Your friends, mentors and even loved ones can help you with ideas that can help you go a long way. People that will always support you and your decisions.

Lastly, Please, please and please TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF Don't ignore your mental and physical health. If you feel its deteriorating please do not ignore. Take alot of time to rest, make you eat and eat well, exercise, take care of your body, if you have the resources don't hesitate to spend on yourself.

And.....Do not hold back from asking for help especially when things get a bit difficult. It's one step at a time.
