WIFE FOR HIRE by JANET EVANOVICH (BOOK REVIEW)

"Wife for Hire" by Janet Evanovich is an enjoyable and lovely romantic novel about Hank Mallone, a former hockey player who had to retire due to an injury. When his family's marriage is approaching, he needs a date to accompany him. You can presumably guess what happened next.

For a huge sum of money, the funny and talented musician Maggie Toone promises to be his fiancée. As they spend more time together, Hank and Maggie start to have real heartstrings for one another, but their arrangement puts them at risk of breaking up.

In summary, the book is well-written, and I find the book to be incredibly exciting and satisfying for all to read. The plot is both funny and fascinating, and all of the characters are appealing. I strongly recommend this book to everyone who likes a good love story with a hint of drama and humour.

The relationship between Hank and Maggie made this book enjoyable for me. As they navigate their fragile relationship, it's easy to cheer for them because of their facetious and ridiculous exchanges. I also love how the author addressed issues about how celebrity prospects and family dynamics in an unconcerned and realistic way.

One of my favourite citations from the book is when Maggie reflects on her relationship with Hank. "I'm not sure what we are, but I know what we're not. We aren't a business deal, we aren't a fling, and we aren't a mistake." Catchy, yeah! 🤭

I considered, Janet Evanovich "Wife for Hire" is a fascinating and endearing love story that will appeal to those who enjoy this genre. It's a book that is not to be missed because of its clever dialogue,well-written plot, and compelling characters.
