Friends, I have a dog named Roco. Today’s post is dedicated to him. My little dog is less than a year old, he came into our lives through my father-in-law. Next to our house there is a dog, already a bit older, that got pregnant and my father-in-law asked the neighbor that when the puppies were born, he would give us one. When they were born, we had to wait the appropriate time to adopt him. It was around two months and by then, we still didn’t know which puppy they would give us.

Amigos, yo tengo un perro llamado Roco. El post de hoy está dedicado a él. Mi perrito tiene menos de un año de eda, llego a nuestras vidas por medio de mi suegro.
Al lado de nuestra casa hay una perra, ya mayorcita, que salió embarazada y mi suegro le pidió al vecino que cuando nacieran los cachorros, nos regalara uno. Cuando nacieron, hubo que esperar a que pasara el tiempo prudente para adoptarlo. Fueron alrededor de dos meses y para ese entonces, aún no sabíamos cual perrito nos darían.

It was on May 5th of that year that I saw him for the first time. I was coming home from work and already on the way my boyfriend had told me that he had a surprise for me at home. Of course, I couldn’t imagine what it would be, I had no idea. When we got home he asked me to close my eyes, he guided me to the room and when I opened my eyes my heart melted with what I saw. It was the cutest and smallest puppy I had ever seen.

Fue el 5 de mayo de ese año que lo vi por primera vez. Yo llegaba de trabajar y ya durante el camino mi novio me había dicho que me tenía una sorpresa en la casa.
Por supuesto que no imaginaba que sería, no tenía idea. Cuando llegamos a la casa él me pidió que cerrara los ojos, me guió hasta el cuarto y cuando abrí mis ojos se me derritió el corazón con lo que vi. Era el cachorro mas lindo y pequeño que jamás había visto.

Previously I had lived with a dog but I had never had a puppy to take care of and watch grow. Having a pet, whatever it is, is a great responsibility and my boyfriend and I took it on with great pleasure. I was even afraid at first to hold him in my arms, he seemed like a stuffed toy because he was so small and soft. That same night, between my father-in-law, my boyfriend and me, we were saying what name to give him and among several we settled on Roco.

Anteriormente había convivido con una perra pero nunca había tenido un cachorro para cuidarlo y verlo crecer. Tener una mascota, la que sea, es una gran responsabilidad y mi novio y yo la asumimos con mucho placer.
Hasta miedo yo tuve al principio de cogerlo en brazos, es que parecía un juguete de peluche de tan pequeño y suave.
Esa misma noche, entre mi suegro, mi novio y yo, decíamos que nombre ponerle y entre varios nos quedamos con Roco.

Roco is very much Roco, he is very cheerful, mischievous and above all, playful. He has grown at an incredible speed, many times I look at him and I’m surprised that he is so tall and stretched out. For this little dog, like many, playing is the best and most important thing in his life haha. He literally thinks that everything is a game. He has broken any number of things that are within his reach, he is a “grinder”.

Roco es mucho Roco, es muy alegre, travieso y sobre todo, juguetón. Ha crecido a una velocidad increíble, muchas veces lo miro y me sorprende que este tan alto y estirado.
Para este perrito, como muchos, jugar es lo mejor y lo más importante en su vida jaja. Él, literalmente piensa que todo es un juego. Ha roto cualquier cantidad de cosas que esten a su alcance, es un "esmeril".

Many times, we have scolded him and he knows that we are upset and still wants to start playing. In these cases, when he knows that we are requiring him and that we are not happy, he approaches us and gives us many little kisses to take away the anger. He knows, he knows that little dog.

Muchas veces, lo hemos regañado y él sabe que estamos molestos y de igual forma quiere empezar a jugar. En estos casos, cuando él sabe que lo estamos requiriendo y que no estamos contentos, él se nos acerca y nos da muchos besitos para quitarnos el enfado. Como sabe, como sabe ese perrito.

Another thing that Roco really likes to do is sleep, especially in the mornings and midday.

Otra cosa que a Roco le gusta mucho hacer es dormir, en especial por las mañanas y medio día.

He eats a lot despite not being so big, he eats as if he were a “bull”, and he likes almost everything, but his favorite food is chicken. I love his fur and his colors, mostly he is black, but he has a white chest and part of his legs, on which he has spots like moles. My dog is very cute.

Come bastante a pesar de no ser tan grande, come como si lo fuera un "toro", y le gusta casi de todo, pero su comida favorita es el pollo.
A mi me encanta su pelaje y sus colores, en su mayoría es negro, pero tiene el pecho blanco y parte de las patas, en las cuales tiene pintas como si fueran lunares. Es muy lindo mi perro.

The best thing of all is that I have seen him grow and we have taught him where to do his business, how to give us his paw, to sit and lie down. It’s like having a child, you see him grow and you educate him and he needs care, a lot of affection and love. Roco is the joy of the house, every time he does a mischief, it’s an anecdote that he gives us.

Lo mejor de todo es que lo he visto crecer y lo hemos enseñado donde hacer sus necesidades, como darnos la patita, a sentarse y acostarse. Es como tener un hijo, lo ves crecer y lo educas y necesita cuidados, mucho cariño y amor.
Roco es la alegría de la casa, cada vez que hace una travesura, es una anécdota que nos regala.

What I love most about him is how he always receives me every time I arrive home, it’s a euphoria that comes over him as if I were the center of his universe, it doesn’t matter if only 5 minutes passed, if I leave the house and come back it’s sure that he will receive me as if I were a gift for him, as if I were his mom.

Lo que mas amo yo de él es como siempre me recibe cada vez que llego a la casa, es una euforia que le entra como si yo fuera el centro de su universo, no importa si solo pasaron 5 minutos, si salgo de la casa y regreso es seguro que me va a recibir como si yo fuera un regalo para él, como si yo fuera su mamá.

In short, Roco is very cute and intelligent, he gives me many joys and I know, by the way he looks at me, that he loves me a lot just as I love him.

En fin, Roco es muy lindo e inteligente, me regala muchas alegrías y sé, por su forma de mirarme, que me ama mucho asi como yo a él.
