A new sunburst garden gate

This post, with threespeak video inserted, was created on my mobile device using the new video feature at Ecency. com

The entry into the back yard at my daughter and son-in-law's house through the Arbor serves two purposes. Not only is it a delightful way to get to their backyard garden, it also keeps the dogs in the fenced-in area at the back of the house.
They had cut down several arborvitae trees out of the yard and used the trunks of the trees as poles to build the Arbor.
This gate was made out of some recycled boards that they had on hand, but after 10 years of being out in the weather it was beginning to fall apart and a new one was needed.

They had an old pallet, took that apart and used the wood to build this new gate that they designed themselves.

There was some discussion about leaving it unpainted, but in the end it was decided that since it was a sunburst design it should be painted in bright sunshiny colors.

As you can see in the video, Piper was the first to show them that there might be a flaw in their design!

Modifications were made and this is what the finished gate looks like!

It looks lovely and will keep Piper safe, too!

Awesome gate and cool that they made it out of old pallets. Piper pointed out the obvious 😂 I had a dog that was a real escape artist. He would be out roaming the neighborhood when we got home. We would pick him up and take him home then could never figure out how he got out 🤔

Ha! They have a cat door into the basement and they have yet to figure out how Piper crawls through it!

Piper is a pretty good girl. She does hate having gates, though. She has even figured out how to squeeze her 45 pound body through a cat door that is 8" wide. Ha!

My last dog did the same and I never figured out how. I fixed a wooden board in front of the cat door that worked 😜
They say where the head comes through, the "rest" of the dog can too if they really want

The place looks so cool
The entrance is amazing
Seeing the place from afar, you'd feel like going in there. The flowers also made it beautiful

I do so love that sunshiny garden gate.

Love the video of Piper too .... and the modifications on the gate.

There is something really neat about garden gates in general. I once thought about putting one at the end of a walkway where the side of it meets the yard. There is no fence there, but I still thought it would look neat with a gate, just for the sake of having a gate as decor there. That has not happened, but it was a good thought.

There is something old fashioned and romantic about garden gates! You don't see them often anymore, unless they are chain link!

I always think they look inviting and they make me wonder what is on the other side. If someone takes the effort to put up a pretty gate, I'm thinking there will be something neat to see behind it.

This very good thing is added in it. Man can easily upload his video and the way we see all these plants happening, the view is very beautiful. Have a nice day.
