Pulled Pork sandwiches

(Edited)

Pulled pork is a favorite American barbecue dish from the Southern US. This weekend my son rotisseried 2 pork shoulder roasts on his new grill for 4 hours at 265°F. The grill is being put to good use!

The meat can be cooked in a slow cooker, but the rotisserie and the smoker made it the best that we have ever had.

Relax with a mojito
while the grill and the woodchips in the smoker do the work!

Manually pull the meat apart. Add a spicy BBQ sauce to the shredded pork. Our favorite is Galena Competition Honey Habenaro sauce.

Cabbage slaw made with Dukes mayonnaise @jacey.boldart introduced me to Dukes, and now the whole family uses it!

Enjoy on a bun toasted on the grill!

A perfect summertime sandwich!

Better than a hamburger, in my opinion.

Yeah, I can totally imagine! It's not something that is commonly prepared here, so not easy to compare for me :-)
But that's the same for hamburgers, most burgers you can get here are McDonals or Burger King. But that's now something that is slowly changing, good cuisine restaurants have now also started to offer "good" burgers. Quite a difference!!! :-D

Exactly! Fast food hamburgers don't even count as real food.
And home cooked food is often the best, too.

Yes indeed, there's no comparisaon possible between fastfood and home cooked food! It's called "junk" food for a reason :-D Now, even at home there can be a big difference in what you cook, but I don't think you can ever really cook something as unhealthy as fastood :-)

Well, in my top 3 of non-homemade burgers, it's 5guys, BK, McD.
Not even sure if 5guys should be in a list with fastfood :-D

Ok, yeah, that looks awesome! Slaw looks good too, though maybe a little heavy on the onions for me ;)

4 hours of mojitos though, not sure I'd remember eating anything after that :D

I don't usually add onions to coleslaw.. But I do add some sugar. Cabbage is always a favorite.

That pulled pork looks pretty amazing dearest Mel. Slow-grilled meat with a spicy BBQ sauce on a toasted bun is pure summertime bliss. Enjoy this one dear

I recognized the recipe, in our country it is called "Drpano prase" 😀

But i never added bbq sauce. Do you add it while the shredded meat is on the fire? How long does it cook together with the bbq sauce?

The BBQ sauce only needs to be heated with the pork before it gets put on the bun! Everyone has their own favorite way of BBQing.
