Searching for Spring

It seems like no time at all between when you go out in the woods searching for those first signs of spring starting to appear, and then suddenly everything is lush and green and there is no doubt that winter is a thing of the past!

Wood Ducks are terribly shy, but I was able to get a few photos by being silent and not trying to approach too close.

Catkins on the willows.

And even a few spring wildflowers starting to bloom.

Buttercups

Bloodroot

Hepatica

I was surprised to see this Mourning Cloak butterfly. It seems so early in the season.

But it's not too early for Ticks! Nasty things. Remember if you plan to be outdoors to use a good tick repellent!

Today while playing cricket I also took some photos, will take some more and merge them all in a single post as you did.
Beautiful scene of nature ❤️

Nice pics 👍 We are just starting spring here too. Willows look similar. Not as many wildflowers yet.

These were a rare find, there were not many flowers blooming yet. We have 80°temps predicted over the weekend, with rain and storms. Warm rains will cause everything to explode!

Good signs of spring you captured, didn't it just snow, haha? Anyways I'm going out on a limb and saying it's here. I love the wood ducks you shot and all the blooming wildflowers. Suppose to be nearly 90 this weekend for a high. Last Saturday while fishing I noticed a tick on me. Not from a tree but walking through prairie grass. Hopefully you have some beautiful weather coming your way this weekend 😊

80s here this weekend, and of course storms are predicted. Wood ducks are a favorite. I love seeing them sitting on tree branches. Until I moved into the woods along the river I had never seen that before, and I'm still delighted to see them high in the oak trees!

I imagined the beauty of nature that you've captured. How great it could be to be present in that place! 😀 Be safe always, and enjoy your day.

Such beautiful images. They make Spring my favorite season, even though it brings the return of lawn mowing. !BBH

The only way to get them back would be to contact that account and have them send it back to you. It appears to be an inactive account I am afraid that you will not have much luck getting them returned

I understand, and feel so bad for you. It is in his wallet and he is the only one who can access it now.
We have all made similar mistakes-for me it was 850 Hive lost. But all you an do is learn from it, get back to work and move on.

Not exactly wood ducks, but I remember that 10 years ago (in the February of 2014) I saw ducks swimming in the Lake Feneketlen (Feneketlen-tó in Hungarian) in Budapest, Hungary. It was a peaceful experience. I even uploaded two videos (this and this) about it in that year to YouTube.

Spring is here! Beautiful shots, dear. Flowers are always perfect models and birds harder ones. 😁

It's so nice to see the flower and green everywhere isn't it? No more snow covering everything. Those were some nice flowers you have there!
