An early morning walk to the shores of Lake Michigan to watch the sun rise over the WATER is a great way to start a weekend morning.

Lake Michigan borders the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana in the US. It has a shoreline that stretches for about 1,640 miles (2,640 kilometers).

Canadian Geese were flying and shouting to each other as this swimmer wades into the water to take advantage of the calm WATER for an early morning swim. .

This squirrel has a long way to go across the sand to get a drink of WATER!

But in the city your time along the lake shore can quickly become crowded as cyclists begin gathering for a ride on Lake Shore Drive.

Bike the Drive is a fundraiser for the Active Transportation Alliance, working to improve conditions for walking, biking, and public transit throughout Chicagoland.

Oh no poor squirrel needs a water pack, haha. I don't know if I have ever seen a squirrel on a beach. Not exactly their preferred territory.

The photos are stunning, especially that of the people driving bikes, what's the flower i saw there that has a gold color, geese love it to go close to the water and have a great moment

Thanks! I think the flower was a blue morning glory, but the color of the sky turned it golden.

Water, sunrise, geese, and even a squirrel on the beach. This is what I want to show myself. I was visiting my son in the North. I returned home.

Cool shots of the lake shore. The colors are great in the sunrise shots. But then the crowds... nice to have some time alone before the city hustle begins.

The lake shore is a busy place on nice sunny weekends!
It's exciting, but best to be at home in the woods.
Got thisthrough the window photo of this very white turkey. I had never seen one like it before.

Thanks. There are often beautiful skies this time of year although from my house here in the woods the trees block my views of the sky. I always enjoy the views over the lake.

Canadian geese exactly as the artists' impression of them over the years. It's a beautiful sight.
The sunsets, the sandy beach, everything there, so beautiful.

Wow! Those are some great shots. It is that you don't want your photos to compete for the prizes, but these could really be winners. I love the colours!

Wow! What a lovely place!!
Imagine this is only a lake it's so huge looks like the ocean!
I could stay here from sun up to sundown, very tranquil and peaceful special if one wants to have peace and solace.

It is a huge lake! You have to get there early before all the people arrive to have it mostly to yourself.
