Photo-essay of my Mothers Day!

I had a marvelous Mothers Day weekend! All of my family was here and now my house is filled with flowers! The beautiful yellow hand embroidered table runner is a gift brought back from Mexico.
My outdoor flower pots have been planted.
It won't be long and the planters will be overflowing with flowers.
The raised planter has been seeded with lettuce, arugula, and spinach. The cold frame lid keeps the chipmunks from digging up the dirt.
Hanging this beautiful red begonia next to the hummingbird feeder must have made the little hummers feel right at home and they couldn't resist joining us while we were all out working getting the deck ready for summer.
My son created an ingenious watering system so that I have a readily available and easy way to water all my plants each morning.
The birdbath is filled with water and they use it happily, even though they have a water source of running spring water in the creek only 50 feet away. I used a deer repellent product and so far it has worked to keep them from eating the hostas this spring.
And my new Greenman has a home hanging out on the screen porch and he kept me company while I ate lunch at the table out there yesterday.
Have I mentioned how much I love summer?

you have a lovely set of anuals , i stilll need to go out and fine myself some to replace the tulips in the containers .
I replanted a pot full of zucchini seeds 3 times and they dug them up and ate every seed! My last attempt is to get the plants started indoors.
the only enemies i have when i seed things are snails and slugs but i leave those for the hedgehogs and birds

That's great to have fresh flowers at home. I also like flowers and like gardening. In spring mostly I plant some flowers but when the weather became harsh, they wilted and died. Flowers give the fresh feelings to eyesight.
These will only last until winter arrives here and it starts snowing, but they will make my summer days lovely!

Looks like a wonderful Mother's Day! We used to always plant flowers on Mother's Day when we lived in Minneapolis. This year in Vermont, there was a frost last night and forecasted again tonight! ❄️❄️❄️
It's been getting down into the 40s at night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we are past cold weather worries. Soon. You will be able to plant soon! ❤️
That garden is a valuable treasure, what better way to celebrate Mother's Day than to prepare it to enjoy it throughout the summer. And in the best company! I include Mr. Green, hehe.

Spending time out there with nature makes me so happy! Mr Green is a good dinner companion. He is quiet and doesn't eat much!

I know how I protect my garden in some ways, it takes a lot of work the way you are. If they are not watered and taken care of in time, they get spoiled.
