Leaving autumn behind

The snow here is deep on the ground. We have had some of the biggest snow falls that we have seen in years, but I still have these photos from the first part of November that I liked and wanted to share before they are too much out of date!

Plus these photos remind me of warmer days and what a beautiful autumm we had, since it is snowing again tonight and kids are hoping they will get a snow day off school tomorrow.

These were taken in central Illinois. The flat rich soil is deep and fertile and often yields over 250 bushels of corn per acre.

The windmill pumps water and in days past was used to fill livestock water tanks. It still turns in the wind with a rhythmic clatter, , but it is not connected to the pumping mechanism.

Who can resist a shadow photo?

Since I think these are the last of the fall photos I have in my album, I can now say goodbye to Autumn and comfortably move along into winter and Christmas!

Beautiful fall. Snow should be fun too. I've never experienced snow since I live south.

I love having 4 distinctly different seasons, but must say winter is my least favorite!

The beautiful autumn has ended and time to face very cold weather.
Your pictures are very good and they inspired me.

Thanks for sharing 😍

Although I was imagining a winter scene, it's beautiful to see this landscape you've shared with us. I've always been fascinated by landscapes like this in autumn. I hope I can enjoy them someday!

Love fall foliage, their radiant colours. That's what I miss about the North. But I certainly don't miss the cold weather. Or the snow. B-) Cheers.

What beautiful photos! It's amazing how quickly the seasons change, isn't it? These are a wonderful reminder of that gorgeous autumn—such stunning colors and light. They definitely bring some warmth to this snowy season.

I hope your kids get their snow day tomorrow! There's something so magical about a fresh snowfall, especially when you can enjoy it from a cozy home. Thanks for sharing these glimpses of November's beauty. They're certainly not out of date; they're a perfect seasonal contrast

Too bad to here the snow is already so deep there, while it's sunny and warm here! Beautiful pictures though, fall really is a pretty time of year isn't it?

Wow those yellow and oranges look nice now that Vermont has turned mostly monochrome for winter.
