Winter travel

Since health limitations prevent me from traveling, I have to travel vicariously through the wonderful photos that get shared here on Hive.

Or through my kids adventures.

My son was at Chicago's OHare Airport early this morning, off on an annual 'boys' weekend with a couple of old buddies that he rarely gets to see these days. They live in different states and all of them have busy jobs and they all look forward to their 3 day getaway!

He was flying Southwest Airlines, and that is actually where he was going. To Las Vegas, in the American southwest.

But before the plane could take off they had to wait for it to be de-iced

It didn't take long before they were flying over desert landscapes and warmer temperatures.

This is the suite they are staying in with some nice Vegas views.

Wow, what a comfortable place to stay, the views are really amazing. No need to go outside to enjoy the beauty of the outside, just sit on the balcony with a cup of warm coffee

It is a luxurious hotel suite! If I was there I wouldn't need all those TVs. The views would keep me occupied!

I've only seen Vegas live from a few movies and YouTube. When I saw this picture of yours:

For some reason, this place looks like a casino in Vegas... Well, I've only seen a casino in Singapore and Malaysia in my life so far. And... I only peeked from the outside because I was still a kid back then 😂. Casino in SG and MY look different than I imagine back then 🤣. !LOL

De-icing is very important. I looked out of the window a couple of times because the plane was waiting. Then, the stewardess explained to us why we were a few minutes late.

Yeah, i usually choose window seat when i travel. Lots of amazing pictures you can get if you are on that spot. Thanks for sharing 😍

On which floor is the hotel room? My God, I couldn't sleep there so high. The views are impressive but my vertigo only tolerates them on the screen, hahaha. The rest is the same as seen in the movies, I also hope that roulette is kind to them. 🍀

I don't like being so high either and can't help but think of emergency situations. Did you notice the window washers on the scaffolding outside the window. No way could I do that job!

At the airport, the wings are treated with an anti-icing reagent so that the wings are not covered with ice in the sky.
They still haven't come up with a more environmentally friendly solution for this.

Hope they win the games. Never been to a casino, and I think I will never be able to see one. hahah
the changes from The Icy weather to the hotter area, mean only one thing, America is so huge.

That look like a fun trip! I love Vegas, but it's gotten so expensive! I'm sure they had a blast and thank goodness no plane problems!
