Hear-with an ear to the ground

The exhibition at Morton Arboretum in Lisle Illinois consists of five large scale creations by Polish American artist Olga Ziemska. I have photos of two of them here. One more of the sculptures titled 'Strata' I'd shown in my previous post HERE

The exhibition’s intention is to remind us of the human connection to nature and the earth,

This sculpture is made of river rock and titled 'Hear-with an ear to the ground'. The intention is to remind us to listen to Nature. The breeze blowing through the trees and grasses, and the sound of the birds singing and insects chirping-take time to be still and listen to the sounds of nature
.

This 6ft tall sculpture made of tree branches is titled 'Stillness in Motion'.

Many people find Maze walking to be a form of spiritual exercise and meditation for quiet contemplation and prayer.

There are 16 miles of walking paths and hiking trails in the arboretum and there is plenty to see!

It's such a beautiful time of year to be outdoors!

I love nearly all outdoor art, but the sculptures that are larger than life are the most fun.

The Maze is a metaphor of life with it's twists, turns, dead ends as we go. Sometime directionless, often with a goal, some not. We met others in that maze of life, some we follow, others we don't. At special times we hear that voice, a guide that tells us to follow your dreams and that dream will lead you there.

Wise words, my friend! Labyrinth walking is more common here than mazes are.

Listening to nature is relaxing. Especially when it is raining or birds are singing)

that is such a wonderful sculpture. Love the contrast of the white subculture with the brown ground surrounding it, certainly draws attention towards it. NAd that is true, we should always listen to the mother nature, the only known planet at the moment that we know could sustain life.

The place you show is spectacular both for the environmental sculptures and for the garden design. How much I would give to visit that place! Thanks for sharing!

Wow
The two sculptures really make sense. I hope I get to see it someday and how does a river rock look like?

There is a special connection between man and nature because if we humans find peace somewhere, it is the place where there is more grass and flowers, then there is a lot of happiness.
