Great Blue Heron
it is always a joy to come upon a Great Blue Heron wading in the river. There is one that is often standing on the dock in our neighborhood doing some early morning fishing.
Herons are large wading birds in North and Central America standing about 4 feet (1.2 meters) and it has a wingspan of 6 to 7 feet (1.8 to 2.1 meters) has a wingspan of 6 to 7 feet (1.8 to 2.1 meters)
The nearby rookery seemed to have a successful hatch this year and we are seeing more herons around than ever before. They are such graceful birds!

Great photos! We have herons here in North Carolina, but we're about 100 miles inland from the coast so not in my region.
I've been thru NC several times. It's such a lovely state. I have some family there.

The first image looks really cool, the wings are perfectly spread out as if they are painting in the air. The nuance is also very calm and graceful.
