Getting ready to enjoy spring!

Happy Easter! And happy spring!

The family was not able to gather together today for dinner, but with Mothers Day only a few weeks away we have made plans to be together then.

Everyone made arrangements for plants and flowers for out on my deck, and my daughter spent the afternoon beginning my 'gardening' season.

The planter box has spinach, lettuce, and beets....

And there are flowers adding a bit of much longed for color!

We still have some cold nights in the forecast and decided to keep the basil and cherry tomato plant indoors on a sunny window sill until temperatures warm up just a bit more.
All the plants that have spent the winter in the house can get moved outdoors soon!

It's certainly a welcome start to getting ready to welcome spring. And makes the view out my windows so much brighter!

Will you transplant them or they would grow to maturity/harvest in the box?

Everything will continue growing in the planter box, and another 'crop' will be planted after summer days begin to cool down for more autumn vegetables!

I like the design of your planter box, and I love those vibrant and beautiful flowers. It shows you care a lot of your plants. 💖🌹🪴🙂

The planter box had to be modified to keep out the critters that kept coming up and trying to dig up or eat all the plants! Living in the woods has its hazards! The cover has chicken wire to try to keep them out.

It's good that spring has arrived for you, too. I hope you enjoy taking care of these plants.

We'll see how it goes, now we've started permaculture for the first time.

I'm sure you have been using many permaculture practices already so it shouldn't be too big a leap! Hope it's a good growing season!

It is a good height for me and always provides plenty of summer salads!

I love gardening, I enjoy it lots. It's a passtime for many people. Good job!

I can no longer grow a real garden and miss it terribly, so pots and planters that I can easily access on my deck have replaced my beloved garden plot

That is such a beautiful planter box Melinda. But yeah, licing close to the woods has its own disadvantage, as the critter might love to share the plant that you have.
they are the early tester, and if it is too healthy and nice, they won't leave you anything.
happy Easter Melinda.

The box must be to protect the plants from extreme weather, right? It was important to have some flowers too. I liked all of them but the red and yellow flowers were the prettiest. 😊

It can be used to protect from the weather. But mostly I use it to keep animals from digging and eating the plants. One of the hazards of living in the woods is all of the critters that I have around!

Despite all these hazards, being in solitude and connecting with nature is no less than a blessing, it is a different matter that not everyone understands its importance. I like the use of that box!👍🏼

Thanks! You too! It's always a joy to watch it arrive. There is a mama Cardinal sitting on two eggs in the lilac bush outside my bedroom window. Hope she has a successful season!

Looks like you are further along than us 🙂 our seedlings are still in the garage under grow lights. We did put in some new beds yesterday. And plan to plant lettuce and radishes later today in the narrow beds.

It got down into the 30°s last night and I see a few more nights like that in the forecast, but the spinach and pansies won't mind. Love your new raised bed! It is a great size.

Good morning, lady @melinda010100

You have a beautiful garden and beautiful flowers. It's great that your daughter is helping with the garden.

It's great that you planned to spend Mother's Day together.

Have a wonderful week.

In the summer season, we see that all these flowers become much fresher and many trees also have leaves, so this season is also much more beautiful for flowers.

Nice start to your garden. I have fresh basil in my yard too, fortunately it basically never freezes here but the plants still grow better in summer. Hopefully the freezing nights will be over soon so you can get your garden going. I love the flowers, they are gorgeous. It's one of the things I love about spring is all of the colorful flowers everywhere!

Me gusta el mueble para preparar plantines, se lo mostraré a mi padre, que siempre le gusta empezar proyectos, y este será muy útil!
