Christmas Phone Photography

My days of having live Christmas trees and the mess of having pine needles all over the living room are long past!

It's so much simpler to go out into the garage and roll the storage bag that holds my artificial tree indoors.

Put the 3 sections together and the tree is up!

My daughterinlaw, daughter and granddaughter did the decorating and clean up afterwards.

The lights on the tree are red and white. Candy Cane lights. The phone camera picks up the green of the tree through the lights and makes the white lights appear green.

Now I'm ready for when they all arrive back here on Christmas eve!

I love the cheerful lights, and it's fun to notice how the tree reflects all around the house! @olgavita these REFLECTION photos are for you!

Be sure and check out @untilwelearn 's Contest for phone photos

I'm not buying many gifts this years. But there will be enough so that everyone receives something!

Love your tree !

I would love a real tree, if someone else would go get it and set it up ! 😄 OH... and come back after I'm done with it and take it out.

So nice that you have good help. The red and white lights are so nice. One year when I was doing a whimsical tree, I took strings of solid red and solid white and striped them down the tree, not mixed, but actual stripes. It was also pretty neat, but I only did that once.

I like how the 3rd from last photo makes it look like there is a ghost Christmas tree in the woods. The essence of Christmases past.

Oh I bet the candy cane Stripes were beautiful, and I can imagine how much work it was! Putting on the lights was always my least favorite part of decorating a tree. The girls did good with this one.

The past two years I have gotten a small real tree, hoping to have some of the fragrance of Christmas, but I would say that it was negligible and not worth the effort. This year I chose to keep it simple.

I saw one of the facebook shorts (I tried for the longest time not to look at any of them. LOL) .....and it had two guys with a very large artificial tree and all they put on it was white lights and the silver icicles and I LOVED it. I am toying with the idea of cutting a VERY small tree and making a small version of it, like you, to see if I can get some of the wonderful aroma, but also to see if there is any beauty when done the same way, in a very small tree.

When I was growing up, we always had a cedar tree and most times, either some of our extended family or some church friends would let Dad cut one off of their property. As children, we didn't know the difference in how their very fine limb ends weren't perfect for ornaments, so we adored them and the SMELL.... on my was it ever heavenly. Some years I have cut some bits off the ends of some cedars at Mom's, not so you can tell buy looking, but i have put it in an old pot, added water and brought it to a slow simmer on the stove top. It wasn't as strong as it used to be with the hot lights strung on the tree, but there was still some aroma from it. Oh how I love getting a whiff of that !

My daughter is on her way over right now to bring me a yule log that she created that will have fresh Greens on it. It will be the centerpiece on my dining room table. Most likely that will be the only greens that I will have this year. I will simmer some orange peel and cinnamon sticks in a little pot on the stove to get a festive smell in the house.

Yes, our Christmas tree is also a family activity. Well, it was when the children were small. We'll decorate it sometime this week. Today my wife bought a very nice poinsettia.
And the reflections are great!

I always kill poinsettias and cheated last year and bought a pair of artificial ones! Much easier and now I don't have to feel guilty about these 'plants' dying!

Even if you don't celebrate the religious part of Christmas, decorating a tree is festive and such fun for the family!

I wish that we (my brother and I) could still decorate a Christmas tree together with our mother, and that we would still be together with her.

I wish that she would be still with us.

I wish that we would have spent more time with our mother.

Our mother passed away on 2017.12.17.

Exactly one week before Christmas seven years ago.

She was 64 years old (she was born on 1953.10.22).

I can only encourage everyone to spend as much time with your family as you can.

We miss her so much.

A little bit more than two weeks yearly yet, but I wish Merry Christmas to everyone, who celebrate it.

Amazing, that's what I call a life hack.
I haven't put up a Christmas tree in my living room for years because I'm too lazy to put it up and take it down in less than a month. It's a tree that has to be put together piece by piece (branch by branch).
I never thought of this quick solution. Thanks for the idea.

They even have pre lit trees! Just pop it up, the lights are already on it, plug it it in and it's Christmas!

Should agree with the fact Hardwork always pays. The hardwork is pictured in the Christmas tree. So beautiful with its beautiful colour combination. And reflection no doubt, is too good.

The Christmas tree that the whole family gathered to decorate looks amazing and as you said, the reflections look even more amazing. Now we just have to wait for Santa! 🌲☃️

You have very good team to help, dear Melinda, and you got a beautiful Christmas tree with stunning reflections of it.
My tree is artificial and I decorate it every year for the cpacial mood it gives to me. My favourite decorations are old ones made of glass and pretily painted, from the Soviet times. They have some special character and beauty !LUV

My days of having live Christmas trees and the mess of having pine needles all over the living room are long past!

Our artificial tree is so old that it is shedding needles now 🤦 Looks like you had a great set up crew helping out 👍

This tree is only 2 years old. I had a pre-lit tree that I had had for 10 years and all of the light bulbs were starting to go out and were impossible to replace, so I got a new tree and went back to stringing my own lights.
