Birds along the shore

Both of these birds are new to me and I am happy to be able to share them here.

American avocet

American Avocets are migratory shorebirds that can be found in the Midwest during their spring and fall migrations. They are common in the western portion of the US. These were seen during their spring travels in Chicago along the shores of Lake Michigan.

They are known for their distinctive long, upturned bills and black-and-white wings.

American Avocet pairs remain together for one breeding season. They eat aquatic invertebrates in shallow water and also consume small fish and seeds.

Piping Plover

The piping plover is globally threatened and endangered; mainly due to loss of habitat, and has been listed by the United States as "endangered" in the Great Lakes region. I feel extremely lucky to have these two photos

The piping plover gets its name from its bell-like whistled peeps.

Spring migration is an ideal time for bird watching at the Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary in Chicago.

Certainly all species in the world have the ability to migrate when they see their lives at risk! Only man needs passports, visas, to save his life. These birds are beautiful: their small beak, their colors. Beautiful images, @melinda010100

Hi, it's great that you have a bird sanctuary there in Chicago, I imagine the Montrose Point, is a national park with animal protection.
The good thing is that they have the opportunity to enjoy wildlife on a lake, very close to the city.
It is a blessing for people to be able to enjoy them.

The piping plover is also beautiful with its black feathers on its neck that look like a necklace. both of these beautiful creatures are truly a treasure for bird watchers. the shots are perfect, thank you for sharing this beauty.

The movement of beautiful animals that make the mind peaceful. Such a beach has a really gentle breeze and healthy natural breathing. There are great creators for the purpose of living a beautiful, tidy and natural life for humans. The creation of the great creator is always the best, which I realize by seeing these animals.
