A bit of beauty in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
My kids have invited us to go with them on a photo tour of Zihuatanejo. They took many photos while they were there.
The tropical plants, the beauty of the sea and warm sunny days all add to the delightful photos.
The best time to visit Zihuatanejo is between November and May. It is less crowded.
July to September is Zihuatanejo's rainy season. Temperatures are consistently warm year-round. For the best chance of sunny days and fewer crowds, the winter months or early spring are ideal.
Cost of living in Zihua is much lower than in the US with rentals ranging from $400-$600 per month for a one bedroom unit, although expect higher prices for everything during the tourist season.
Hope you enjoyed the tour!

I always remember the name Zihuatanejo because of a movie I watched called The Shawshank Redemption, where the protagonist escapes from prison and heads to that island. In the end, he reunites with another friend who was also imprisoned. Thanks for reminding me of that place.
The movie Shawshank Redemption did make the town famous and in a grew from being a sleepy fishing Village to a tourist destination.
Gosh it looks stunning! Those colours! I am envious of you guys who can just 'pop down' to Mexico.
It is easy to visit, although no longer always safe. But I'm sure that is true of most places these days

Gorgeous tour! btw I saw a tulip tree driving around today. I thought of your post but looked back to it and it was orchid trees in your post. Tulip trees have similar big pink flowers but will actually survive in Vermont.
We are right on the edge of where tulip trees will grow. We had a particularly cold winter a few years ago and it killed off many that had been growing here for years.
Greetings @melinda010100, beautiful place and spectacular photos...I send you a big hug.
Thanks so much!

So nice to actually see photos from the place. That name got stuck in my mind after an awesome movie called the Shawshank Redemption!
Because of the movie the little fishing village turned into quite a tourist destination.

It's incredible how two cities across the world share so many similarities... from the majestic Bougainvillea to the condensed housing and overcrowding. feel like Cape Town is following suit and it wont be long before the whole world does too.

They do a great job texting and sending me photos when they are traveling so that I almost feel like I am there with them. Mexico is a beautiful country.

Busy Bees Manual Curation Post - Chapter 8 - Whoops! Almost Caught Me Out Again!

Thanks so much! I love your Busy bee banner!
Hello! Thank you very much for posting on the Worldmappin Community. We would like to remind you that one of the rules of our community is to pin your post to our map. This will give your post more reach, as well as have the chance to be featured in our daily Travel Digest 😃.
Quick guide on how to do it.
1 - Go to https://worldmappin.com
2 - Find the location of your publication on the map, you can do this by scrolling on the map or using the search bar.
3 - Click on the GET CODE button and then click on the exact location of your publication: a code snippet will be generated.
4 - Copy the code and paste it into the draft of your Hive post. Then publish it :)
The code will be invisible in your post, but a few minutes after publishing you will receive a comment informing you that your post has been added to the map.
Or you can directly pin your post to the map via PeakD. After drafting your post, click the map icon at the bottom. It's beside "Short preview description" and above the "Advanced" icon.
We suggest you read all the rules of our community here.
For any other questions, don't hesitate to contact our team on our Discord channel.
Cheers!
So many steps! It hardly seems worth the extra time. I use Ecency mobile app.
We are working on an integration to ecency app. Until then its the way we just described. Please add your post to the map and follow the rules if you want to avoid being muted in this community.
Until then I will I will no longer use the community and will remove my delegation. I've never been threatened with being muted!
We understand @melinda010100. It is not a threat, but simply how it works. Pinning your post is one of the rules in this community.
In every community, you have to follow the rules. We don´t make any exceptions. No matter what rule is broken, the consequence is being muted after breaking the rules multiple times. This is not news and can be read in our guide.
I don´t understand why it's such a bad thing for you to pin your post to the map. You are the first one complaining about this. But of course, we accept your decision. It is okay with us if you don´t want to post in this community anymore. Also, there is no delegation that we know of. - But even if that doesn't give you extra rights.
I understand. It was only a 100HP delegation and won't cause any affect to you.
How do you handle rule-breaking in your community? I am curious. :) Well delegation to our community is mostly support to the community members (curation) and for yourself as you receive curation rewards. :)
In both Shadow Hunters and Feathered Friends we try to explain how to create better posts and I don't hand out votes on posts that don't follow the very simple rules, until after they comply. It is most often language issues or lack of understanding and simple editing corrects the issue. No threats are made.
This is what I got when I tried pinning my post.
I don´t understand... did you edit your post and enter the code from the map as we explained?
No worries. I'm sure worldmappin will be successful without my support.
Of course it will. Still sorry we couldn´t help you succeed with the pinning. Maybe once the map will be integrated in Ecency Frontend it will be easier for you to pin and you want to try again :) We are always interested in making our users ' handling as easy as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Nice Melinda 🇲🇽🌮
Thanks!
They sure took some beautiful pictures. I really miss living in the tropics where it's warm year round. Plus there are always flowers everywhere... Too bad that Mexico has become less safe than it used to be, it would be nice to live in an area like that year round!
The climate would be great, but even better would be the low cost of living!
One can never have too many flowers! 🌸😉
Sounds like a hidden gem, especially in the off season ❤️
Like most places, I think it is much less expensive in the off season. I don't think it is very hidden from November -May!
Es un lugar hermoso, sin dudas y con un nombre bastante inusual... ¿tiene algún significado o historia particular?
