Celebrating 38 Years Of Life

So here we are, my 38th rotation on a floating rock around a series of events so unique that it brought us all together. My life has been eventful to say the least with most of that commencing prior to my presence even gracing these unique anomalies.

They say you get wiser as you age, but wisdom is probably something I found early in life through strong mentors and people who meant well. It's in part why I do what I do. My beliefs are rooted in the fact that we should all do what we can with what we have to leave this place in a better place for our children and future generations. I also believe in having fun and experiencing the most out of life.

It's why I set my life goals higher and higher each time. You only get one go on this merry go round, so why not milk it for everything it has on offer.

So How was the day?

Work, Dinner and Cake!

As the sun set on another year of life I found myself celebrating my 38th birthday surrounded by the ones who mean the most to me, my children and my partner. The day began like any other with the responsibilities of work occupying my time. However, my colleagues did surprise me with some happy birthday messaging and the anticipation of spending the evening with my loved ones filled me with a sense of excitement that carried me through the day. As the clock knock off time I shut down my computer and made my way home to embark on the wild party that awaited.

Being greeted by the infectious smiles of my children who had been eagerly counting down the days until my birthday. Their excitement was more than mine that I forgot whose birthday it was, mine or theirs. But it warmed my heart to see how much joy they found in celebrating this occasion with me. Although I think they were more excited about the cake than my actual birthday….

We decided to dine out at Stones Bar and Grill a cozy establishment known for its delectable cuisine, more so it’s wonderful steak. As someone who is mindful of their dietary intake due to my up coming competition at the end of the year, I opted for a succulent scotch fillet steak, savouring each mouthful as it melted in my mouth. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for creating lasting memories, with laughter and conversation flowing freely around the table.

While I may be in the midst of preparing for my next bodybuilding competition and diligently watching my calorie intake, I couldn't resist indulging in a slice of rainbow cake that my children had specially chosen for me. The vibrant colors and sweet flavors served as a reminder of the simple joys in life, and I savored each bite with gratitude for the love and thoughtfulness that went into selecting it. Although that additional calories will require additional dieting and accounting for.

As the evening progressed we returned home with our bellies full from the delicious meal we had shared. Eager to continue the festivities we gathered around the television for a night of gaming on the PlayStation and streaming our favorite shows on Netflix. It was a laid back way to unwind after a day filled with celebration and allowing us to bond over shared interests and create cherished memories together. A different focus on how we once were as young kids with raging parties.

What Matter's Most

As I reflect on the events of the day I am reminded of the importance of family and how important they are in shaping our lives. Birthdays serve as an opportunity to not only celebrate another year of existence but also to express gratitude for the love and support that surrounds us.

In a world filled with distractions, obligations and since the end of COVID where families were ripped apart, it's moments like these that serve as reminders of what truly matters. Whether it's sharing a dessert or engaging in friendly competition over video games, it's the simple pleasures of life that bring us the greatest joy.

As I bid farewell to my 38th year and welcome the adventures that lie ahead, I am grateful for the memories created on this special day. With my children by my side and my family close at heart, I am reminded that the greatest gift of all is the love we share with one another. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
